Listened to snatches of the game last night, but Merthyr seemed to score every time I did! Another hat trick for Pearce, with the other goals coming from George, Twose and Barton. City led 2-1 and then 4-2 but were pulled back to 4-4 before a couple of our subs got the goals that won the game.

Round 2 of the Nathaniel MG Cup tonight, v Cambrian Utd

1-0 down coming up to half time.
Perhaps I'm making too much of this because it's all about experience at the end of the day (and now it's end of the day for the experience) but that seems a little dispiriting. After some good results in pre-season, we've drawn with and lost to Cymru South opposition without scoring a goal. I suppose it shows the difference between friendlies and competition.
I went to a Cymru South game last week (Cardiff Dracs v Ammanford) and it wasn't very good. Swansea U21s beat Afan Lido 5-0 tonight and the latter are at the same level.
Hopefully our lads can bounce back from this (to put it politely).
