Has anybody watched the sword/metal bar fight in Pill, Newport that has been doing the rounds today?
ItÂ’s mental to be fair.
ItÂ’s ironic as last night I watched a 2hr+ video of Benji from Dub War/Skindread taking Cullen around Pill and showing the good and the bad of the place.
Fast forward 12 hours and there are two groups of men fighting each other with weapons on a Friday afternoon.
IÂ’ve heard it was Turks against a large group of Kurds.
The overwhelming take from the video that I watched from The Central Club is that most of the old heads from Pill, regardless of colour are pissed off at the new arrivals who want nothing to do with the community even though it would have been one of the earliest melting pots in the country.
ItÂ’s just a case of throwing hoards of people into a place that has been deprived for decades and letting them to their own devices.
My Mam was from Pill, my old man worked in a garage on Brunel Street right next to The Transporter Bridge from the late 70Â’s to the mid 80Â’s.
I had to spend time there when the teachers strikes were happening and I loved it.
It was ALWYAYS a bit cagey but that added to the aura.
Walking past the Front Line in the 90Â’s to get fishing tackle was an experience.
Going down there to do a pub crawl with the locals and ending up at a Blues Party was great fun but a proper eye opener.
Now, it is pretty much a no go zone after dark and there are gangs of Eastern Europeans and plenty of other places that just donÂ’t want to fit in.
I mentioned on here before that I believe Civil Conflict will happen.
IÂ’ve watched an episode or two with Dr David Betz (Professor of War Studies for the last 25 years at Kings College, London) on YouTube and his take is that we are already in the early stages of an inevitable Civil War/Conflict or whatever vernacular can be used to a big, big tinder box going up in flames.
Now, these interviews of his have mainly been on what many on here would call right wing (Andrew GoldÂ’s Heretics and Triggernometry).
There is undoubtedly a part of the Right that would like nothing more than this to come to fruition, he has been accused of it himselfÂ…but he is quite clear that this is not the case and he is just sounding the warning bell.
He also mentions factional polarization between the left and the right, which we have all seen since 2016.
Very little middle ground if any ground concerned between the Modern Left and The Modern Right.
This Message board is a small microcosm of such behavior.
Look at any Message Board for any football team in the UK that allows any form of Political Chat and it is exactly the same.
We are heading into very, very murky waters and nobody it seems wants to stop it. Some are frothing at the mouth to get there and some can’t or choose not to see it as long as they can view and talk to their “opposition” with condescension.
