BBC News - Housing minister hiked rent weeks after removing tenants

Its not as bad as Shirley Porter but dear me
Starmer out !
Witnessing this Labour government is like walking into your parents having sex, but one of them is dead.
Starmer's Labour Party was elected by default after we had all suffered the most corrupt and shambolic government in living memory and not because of it enjoying the full-throated support of the electorate.
One thing's for sure! Starmer has demonstrated his unsuitability to lead any political party and all he has managed to do is alienate support from all colours of the spectrum. He had a golden opportunity and spectacularly flunked it.

Good riddance.
Nice to see you all in the same Fred, at least have the bollox to own it guys, you did this. 👍💯
Feck me if we had all stayed at home like you we would have had an even worse tory government 🙄
I absolutely KNOW you are a reform right wing boy these days .....as you always have been ...
At least WE can push for a better option now , you can just moan like a fat gammon or keep walking towards Adolf 🤔
No chance sonny
In your dreams sonny. Just own what your lot is doing to the country and take the shame like a they/them without the deflection, the new nasty party is making the old nasty party appear moderate. However you dress it up, you voted for it and I never FACT, your projection is utter bollox.
I can just see Jim Hacker and Sir Humphrey using Sir Keir's words
Jim Hacker. Well this blasted minister has resigned Humphrey. What do you think I should say about her?
Sir Humphrey Well you could praise her "diligent work" Prime Minister
Jim Hacker. You thought she was that bad Sir Humphrey? Oh very well but let's add a bit...er "work left a lasting impact" perhaps?
Sir Humphrey. I see she didn't impress you either Prime Minister!
Still not taking responsibility I see, we have another squirrel and Lardy here, 9 years and still unwilling to take a step back and reset. I see RFKJunior gave the MRNA disciples a large fvk off tablet yesterday, 🤣 is that another conspiracy being slow walked into the mainstream domain, usual suspects are inconsolable ,
🤣🤣🤣🤣

Obviously you will attack the reporter and not the story. 👍
Firstly if i was picking a homelessness minister, i am making sure they arent a landlord.
Secondly id like to see the timeline on all of this clearly as the headlines all appear to be missing key details deliberately.
Thirdly, i was evicted in similiar circumstances last year, was given less notice and not given the opportunity to stay whilst the property was listed for sale. So on the face of it, she appears to be better than the average landlord.
The position of the right wing press is completely illogical on this story. They are rabidly in favour of landlords and the private rental system and against the renters rights bill and at the same time also massively critical of this particular instance in which an MP who happens to be a landlord has acted in a way that is probably better than average towards their tennants. If starmer specifically didnt pick her as minister because she was a landlord (as i would say he should have), the right wing press would have labelled him as hating all landlords, cant really win.
But how do you know that many other landlords don't give the same opportunity to stay while the sale is going through?
You can',t really take just two cases and then call the one the average landlord!
I have no sympathy for her, she knew full well that the government are about to change the law on this issue. Had this been a Tory mp Labour would have been o pin them like a ton of bricks.
I won't disagree about the attitude of the press incidentally
