Thread: Isak saga, and this transfer window

Isak saga, and this transfer window

1st of all, it seems so wrong that this transfer window is still open. Surely it should have closed a week or more before the new season started.
2nd. What a disgraceful way for Isak to behave.
He obviously wants away, but he is still employed by Newcastle, and should be more professional, by putting his toys back in the pram, starting and giving 100% until he does get his move. If he ever does this season

The transfer window has remained open well past the start of the season for donkeys.

With regards to Isak, Newcastle would have my full respect if they told him to not bother reporting for training or games, and just let him fester for the remainder of his contract. Stick him on gardening leave and ruin his career. The complete malcontent players have these days and the amount of power they've been afforded has clearly gone too far.

Does he deserve to have his career ruined? Probably not but a club is going to have to take a stand at some point otherwise they may as well pack in contracts, they wont even get full value for him now, and you can be sure he won't be giving back whatever his nice signing bonus was for the contract extension he signed.

I read somewhere that Isak had said at the end of season before last that 24/25 would be his last one with Newcastle and they club agreed they'd sell him for a reasonable fee at the end of it but have gone back on that. No idea if true, and his behaviour still isn't great but it would explain a bit of it

I'm not sure him pushing for the move is so awful these days.

Newcastle probably aren't in a rush to sell financially so he has probably been advised to try to force it. It's a short career and he doesn't want to stay beyond this window.

Works both ways, if he was a player the club didn't want they wouldn't play him and would actively be looking to move him on.

I had to rearrange my whole FFL team at the last minute because of Isak. Unforgivable.

I agree that if he wants to move then that’s his prerogative, but if Liverpool are not meeting Newcastles valuation, then he’s still getting his wage paid by the Magpies, and should be giving his all till the move happens.

The board at Cardiff City seem to be acting like it never opened never mind closed

He signed a contract, that's all that counts, he sees it out or waits for a purchasing club to pay the full fee.

Well clearly it isn't all that counts is it, same as when clubs pressurise players into agreeing to move on when they've got years left on their contract

I may be wrong on this but I got the impression Callum O'Dowda signed a new contract just before putting in a transfer request so City got a fee. Always thought he had a bit of class about him.

There was six months between him signing a new contract and leaving.

Liverpool are trying to buy him on the cheap, if they can't afford his fee Ł150Million there is no deal. You don't give in to bullies; you tell him to get back and play well. If he does, he may earn a move next season, but there is no time to replace him, so he has to get back to work if he wants to receive any pay.

This Isak saga is all blown out of proportion. It's because it's Newcastle and Liverpool which will get clicks. 2 other clubs like Burnley and Wolves no one really would care that much.

Newcastle are hypocrites, they basically did the same in the case of Anthony Gordon.

They also annoy me when purporting to being the worlds most moral fans, getting out Mike Ashley and then welcoming the Saudi's

The bidding team should get docked points for unstablising another teams squad. If you don't want to pay the asking price then keep your interest out of the public domain

It's laughable if such a thing wasn't included in a contract.
