Thread: GLAMMY

Very unlucky today. The revised Surrey target was very kind on them.
Agree about Carlson. Welsh Fire should have included him in their squad.

Can’t quite believe that result. Poor bowling performance post rain delay but still, there is simply no way in my opinion Surrey win that if they had 50 overs.

    Pony and trap v Gloucs.

    Re: GLAMMY

Carlson's just gone from 49 into the 50s with a reverse sweep for 6. Big chase but we're having a good go!

    Re: GLAMMY

What a thoroughly miserable defence of their crown! And don’t even mention the Welsh fire….desperate for the return of 4 day cricket.

    Re: GLAMMY

Embarrassing the size of that defeat in a 50 over game!

1 win in 16 games combined.

Don't think anyone's really covered themselves in glory this past month.

I was hoping Eddie Byrom would use the competition to force his way back in to the four-day team, as I'm still not sure on ul Hassan as an opener. But he's been very inconsistent.

Only bright spot for me would be Franco who, despite not having many wickets, has clearly benefitted from the exposure and bowled well yesterday.

sadly a depressing read right now, like picking the scabs off an old wound.

Must have been our fifty over form that persuaded them to give him as long as three years Good decision,, he’s got to be given credit for the emergence of Tribe and Kellaway into good first team players this season and Leonard has come on quite a bit as well.

Glammy winning wooden spoon in one day cup.

    Re: GLAMMY

Finally, Welsh Fire pick a Glamorgan player - Kellaway takes 2-10 off 15 balls and they should be on for their first win of the season. Comfortable win for the Women’s team in the afternoon as well.

We’ve clearly missed him in 50 day cup. But sitting out the bashings in the 100 to then come in and play well can only get him a few more column inches I’d have thought.

3 catches and a run out as well - he was named man of the match.

Glamorgan set to win their first Metro Bank game at the final attempt against a strong looking Leicestershire team. Tribe pat a hundred and Smale 75 not out - they need 19 off 35 balls.

Norton looked interesting, good figures and claimed some notable wickets. Great in the field too.

Yes, that was a great catch he took.

Very disappointing title defence, but good to get back to winning ways before the last 3 county championship matches.

    Re: GLAMMY

Just saw the squad list for a second eleven game tomorrow and the name Roman Walker appears on it. I take it Leicestershire are going to release him and Glamorgan are giving him a trial? I was really disappointed when he left us because he seemed such a good prospect in his early days with us, but it's not really worked out for him at Leicestershire has it. When you look at the number of young players involved yesterday and the strides made by the likes of Kellaway, Tribe, Smale and Franco this season, it seems to me that Richard Dawson is a little like BBM in the way he looks to develop youth and so maybe he could get something out of Walker?

Walker didn't get to bowl today, our seconds got 419/3 with Callum Nicholls making 210 not out.

Sam Norteast returning to Kent next season - what happens in our last three games I wonder? In most cases, a player who’s leaving doesn’t play in the games that remain once an announcement is made.

He's seeing the season out here. There's an article and interview with him on the club site. I haven't watched the interview but the article explains everything and is quite moving to be fair.
