Nor Joel, did their dad piss him off or something? There was a case for both, especially considering who made it

To be honest I think this omission is a bit ridiculous and the journalists should ask questions because there's players in that squad that don't play (one of Bellamy's big things apparently) and aren't particularly athletic (again something that's one of his big things), especially considering how light we are in midfield.

    4 playing in league one
    11 in the championship
    9 in the premier league
    1 in France.

0 players at clubs who will be competing at the top end of the premier league/ champions league spots.
It's definitely a weak era for wales - we've usually had one or two elite level players, but there are none at the moment.

I don't think Bellamy would have any problems picking Rubin if he played in a more defensive role, but we just happen to have a lot of attacking midfielders at the moment.

I didn't expect Joel to make the senior side, but I thought Rubin would get in. Bellamy's just not interested in him at present it seems.

Any idea when the under-21's squad is announced?

The only genuine 10 in that squad is Wilson, everyone else could maybe do a job but are more comfortable elsewhere

I didn't expect it either, but when Kai Andrews, Charlie Crew & Josh Sheehan make it then there's probably a solid case for him

You do have to wonder what Colwill had done too piss off Bellamy. He proved against Aston Villa he can play in that deeper role and can also deputise for Wilson at 10

Rubin can’t do anymore, he’s been outstanding this season. Just hope this disappointment doesn’t affect his form for City.

Bellamy has hardly put a foot wrong since taking over the job so can’t really question his decision even though from the outside its baffling when you look at some of the players who do get picked.

So do we need one more call up to have the option of postponing the game?

I guess there's a chance we might still want to play it if there aren't too many more.

We do but I'd say that's inevitable as we will have players in the u21 squad

Does Trott get called up for Bermuda? seems unlikely they'd have a better goalkeeper, or am I doing them a disservice?

No Bagan or Robinson in the Irish squad, but no surprises there.

    Don't forget Ng with Singapore.

Maybe Chambers has an outside chance of an England recall after his recent performances.

Ashford & Joel Colwill will likely be in the u21s, possibly Mafico, Giles & Nyakuhwa too

Politicians answer from Bellamy on Rubin. Loving what he’s seeing this season, player he really likes but needs to see more consistency.

The answer might have more credibility if he wasn’t picking players who are in poor form or don’t start for their club. Kai Andrew’s has played 2 league cup games this season. Josh Sheehan is a sub for Bolton and Lewis Koumas hasn’t played a single minute this season yet.

It does seem for whatever reason that Rubin is held to a higher standard to get picked than others who have made the squad.

    Bang on

Colwill is head and shoulders above most of the squad in terms of ability. And he's really stepped up this season and improved his overall game. It's scandalous to leave him out when you consider utter dross like Sparky and Cullen are regular call ups.

Oh well, at least he's rested for City.

To be fair to Bellamy some of the lads he's picked have shown incredible consistency on the bench this season

Monday’s scenario, Harry Wilson drops out injured, Rubin called up as a replacement

I must admit I'd prefer it if our players weren't dragged all the way to Kazakhstan to sit in the bench

    From a Fulham website:

Harry Wilson was forced off in the 64th minute of Wednesday's 2-0 victory over Bristol City in the Carabao Cup due to a foot injury, coach Marco Silva confirmed in a press conference. "Let's see in the next few hours, or days. Let's hope it's nothing serious because it was the same foot and the same area as his bad injury last season. Fingers crossed that it's nothing really serious."

Agree entirely. What sort of consistency has he seen from Sheehan Crew Koumas and Andrews this season? Even the Jacks are saying Cullen has been hopelessly out of form this season

I think Bellamy is doing a great job with Wales but not picking Colwill before any of the mentioned above makes no sense . Also with Wilson maybe carrying an injury Colwill would provide cover there too.

The way Cardiff are playing this season is much more closely aligned with how Bellamy wants Wales to play . I’m not so sure Crew and Sheehan in league 1 are playing the same way - if they even make their clubs starting line ups!

Though it benefits Cardiff I’m also a Wales fan and would be much more assured if Colwill was an option off the bench rather than some of the others mentioned

tbh at least we won't all be on tender hooks waiting to see if Rubin picks up an injury on Wales duty

You would've thought the fixtures being Kazakhstan and Canada (friendly) would be a decent time along with RC's current form to have picked him for the squad?

It would've given Bellamy opportunity to get his message over to RC or integrate him into the squad or whatever new bollocks football speak is used now?

Can only assume Bellamy either thinks he's not needed as he is satisfied with his midfield options or he just not a fan?
