I actually think Horvath is better than Ward. Horvath at least got two teams promoted. Ward is most famous for getting Leicester relegated 7 seasons after they won the Premiership.

Just to round off the loaned out players for this weekend, Michael Reindorf got 90 minutes in for Newport yesterday but they lost 2-1 at home to MK Dons, whose goals were scored by Nathaniel Mendez-Laing and Callum Paterson.
Think you may be awarding a bit too much credit/blame to both individuals there! I doubt many Forest/Luton fans would single out Horvath as the one who "got" them promoted, if he got Forest promoted with his 6 league appearances then you could easily claim he got us relegated with his appaling record last season
And in fairness Ward was an integral part of Huddersfield's promotion as well as Wales getting out of the group at Euro 2021, big performances against both Switzerland & Turkey

The loan report is a different animal at the moment. Basically all players that are out on loan are in essence in the departure lounge. Whilst all the 20 year old kids are playing for the 1st team.
I'm not sure which of the youngsters are now ready for a loan, the ones that are most likely to progress to the 1st team Twose, Giles, Perrett and Mafico are all 18/19 probably a bit young for a league 2 loan. Spiers and Nyakuhwa are a possibility but the 1st team are a little light in their positions.
I think with our squad being relatively small - unless we get a few signings in we probably can afford to ship anyone out on loan, unless they are miles off the first team
Not much to report over the past week or so. The five players involved in games last weekend managed one point between them, Roko Simic's Karlsruher got a draw at Fortuna Dusseldorf (for whom Jesper Daland didn't make the squad), and none of their teams scored a goal. Reinforcements are on the way though, Isaac Jefferies and Morgan Wigley should be good for a goal or two in the Welsh Premier with TNS and Barry respectively.
A quick mention for Truro City. We had Ryan Kavanagh on loan there a couple of seasons ago as they avoided relegation from the National League South. They've since moved into a new stadium and been promoted to the National League, the first Cornish team to reach that level. Having their own stadium means they don't have to travel hundreds of miles for home games any more but promotion has added distance to their away days.
From stadium to stadium (and back) they'll be travelling 14,474 miles for their 23 away games this season, an average of 629 miles. They're off to Carlisle on Saturday (878 mile round trip) which will help prepare them for their trip to Gateshead later in the season (930 miles). Not places where you'd want to let the coach go without you after the game. There seems to be a novelty value for rival fans making the trip to Truro, York brought over 400 (for an 800 mile round trip) while Southend brought over 700 (680 miles). It will be interesting to see how many Truro take to Carlisle on Saturday.

I've watched a couple of National League games in the last two nights.
Last night it was Truro v Aldershot and on Tuesday it was Wealdstone v Southend. Both matches were great fun with plenty of goals and dodgy keeping and refereeing. I can't find a video kf last night's match, but it's worth trying to find one to see Paul Durkin's son's decision to send off the Aldershot keeper - I've only seen the incident once, but the red card looked a real shocker.
Here's the highlights of Tuesday's game and, if you don't watch anything else, you have to see Southend's equaliser to make it 1-1.
Dunno how many Aldershot took to Truro last night, but you could hear them throughout most of the game - don't think Joe Ralls was there though as a player or a fan.
Aldershot took 176 fans on Tuesday which was a good effort considering they'd played at Gateshead at the weekend. Joe Ralls was down to watch but withdrew as a precaution.
Truro fans don't seem to be seeing much novelty value in going to Carlisle tomorrow, 34 tickets sold as of yesterday.

Durkin is so sure he's nailed it. Surely an alarm bell should have been ringing in his head at the Aldershot players' reaction to him giving a free kick but he showed the red regardless. Absolute dingbat. The red card was overturned this afternoon. Of course.
The pictures weren’t the best on the stream I watched and so it’s a shock to see that a decision I thought was really bad was actually truly horrendous.
