He is the first sitting MP to do this.
First of several perhaps?
Not only was he their Welfare spokesman, he also ran Jenricks leadership campaign.

Stampede off the sinking ship has begun.
Lifeboats are *very* limited!
Kruger is one of a few Tory MPs who will be much more at home in the Farage club. In the last Parliament he did a double act with Miriam Cates that was basically MAGA in the UK.
She lost her seat. He may well have calculated this is the best way to avoid following her to the dole queue but it is more likely to be driven by ideology and a deep infatuation with Trump.
I think as with Andrea Jenkins et al we are witnessing a peeling away of the UKIP faithfull who infiltrated the Tory party during the Brexit debate in an attempt to dramatically alter the party's ethos and direction while utilising it's prominent political status which they could never have achieved themselves.
The UKIP faithfull developed a stranglehold on the Tory party and became so powerful they eventually destroyed and drove out the One Nation wing of the party. The rest is history of course. The Tories are beginning to resemble the internal crush of a dying star with the inevitable explosion soon to come.
It's not surprising these far right former Tories are joining Farage; his party is their natural home and of course they are desperately keen to join the bandwagon.
However the battle at the end may well be decided by just how many One Nation types also abandon the Tories and help coalesce a multi coloured electoral force specifically focused on stopping Farage from ever gaining power.
This multi coloured electoral force will I assume consist of labour, your party , lib dems , greens , Plaid, snp
Thats very romantic but I think this pathetic bickering will just hand a right wing reform the keys to power
Party discipline is bad enough in all parties at times but imagine Plaid whittering on about independence when we are trying to defeat reform
I coukdnt care who I vote for as long as they are the best candidate to defeat a reform one
Thats essentially what has to be worked on ..and very quickly here in Wales
What are eluned Morgan and Plaid throwing punches at each other or the tories when the elephant of racism is staring them in the face
Useless , completely hopeless
