I know I was never the target audience for Disney - but I was genuinely interested to understand the attraction to people over the age of 12.

FWIW I am sitting with a beer looking out over the Sardinian coast at the blue sea after 16 days self driving around amazing scenery, historic sites, small villages with bars, restaurants and live music and other stuff a million miles from theme parks. Maybe we are all just wired differently.
I’ve done plenty of stuff like that all over the place, from Mexico to India, NZ to Big sur. variety is the spice of life. I reckon about 80% of my mates have no interest in football at all, only about 3 have ever been to see us. We are all different, you know that right?

near 50 million visitors to disney world a year, maybe they are not all wrong

sometimes its crowded, its been discussed in this thread how to avoid the crowds, it is expensive, but if people can afford it, its no drama

Im guessing with your dislike of Disney, you dont watch any of the films they make or any of the TV channels they own, which is a little blinkered, each to there own, we are all different

We know disney exists to make money for shareholders ( as do other corporations, coke cola for example, I hope on your Sardinian tour you havent had a coke, sprite or Fanta, wouldnt want to put money into a greedy giant corporation with its major issues to plastic pollution and the way in the US is has treated Blacks and people of colour over the years ) or a beer from any of the major brands, you dont want to look too much into who owns them or the past they have, Im pretty sure most bigger company has a not so pure ethical background

not sure what you think is its " tacky present " ?

we have had the disney channel over here for years, now have disney plus, so you dont need to be American to be " fed a diet of American cartoons and addicted to spin off stuff " , its all about being entertained, they make money through entertainment, its not a secret

thats cool, Im guessing by you posts here, even if you did go to disney ( and you won't ) you wouldnt like it anyway, save your money it'll free up a slot in a queue for people like me

Ive Backpacked around Europe, through Asia, around Austrailia, Ive seen them Blue Oceans while drinking a beer, Ive listened to Live music in Village Bars and eaten in restaurants, it was good, but its nothing to building a lightsaber or being the pilot and hitting the button that engages the Millennium Falcon hyperdrive or watching your kids faces light up when they meet Captain Hook or Sparrow, I could go on, but you either get it or you dont

Yeah I think I’ve lost count of the amount of beers and other stuff I’ve sunk whilst looking at various oceans around the globe, it’s good but I think doing AK in the morning, getting an uber after lunch to Clearwater Beach and sinking a few beers watching the sunset was a pretty good day….
