I would be fielding our strongest team ( with maybe 2 or 3 kids ), a nice little win, winning is infectious and a nice cup run with a trip to Wembley for the final
lets go for it
Anyone called up for international duty won't feature so BBM might not have a lot of choice about who plays
Lawlor, Kpakio, Jolwill, Giles, Mafico, Nyakuhwa and Ashford all called up. Personally don't think we should be playing Wintle, Rolwill, Robinson or Salech in this one either.
Will take a stab at the team being the below, though I haven't got a clue if it would satisfy the criteria.
Turner
Ng
Spiers
Osho
Bagan (he needs a rest but no clue who else would play here)
Chambers
Turnbull
Tankiewicz
Davies
Pearce
Kellyman
Rubin and Davies called up too. Isn't Tankiewicz in some age grade Wales team or do they not play this break?
Are there any rules in the Vertu that we have to play a certain number of players from the start who played the previous league game (as there are in the National League Cup)? If so we'd basically have the team picked for us. If not I hope anyone who has logged serious minutes this year is anywhere close to the team.
For EFL clubs:
Minimum of four qualifying outfield players in their starting XI. A qualifying outfield player was one who met any of the following requirements:
Any player who started the previous or following first-team fixture.
Any player who is in the top 10 players at the club who has made the most starting appearances in league and domestic cup competitions this season.
Any player with forty or more first-team starting appearances in their career, including International matches.
Any player on loan from a Premier League club or any EFL Category One Academy club.
A club can play any eligible goalkeeper in the competition.
Any player out on a long loan term at a National League, National League North, or National League South team can play as long as the loaning team agree to allow the player to return for the match.
I’d normally agree with this, but that win at Exeter has given us a great chance to finish top of this group, and given the trophy is regionalised* until the semi finals we’ve got a decent chance of a Wembley trip this season.
* Only Stevenage and Wimbledon in the southern section are in the top ten of league one, and we’d likely avoid Stevenage in round 2 if we both finish top of our respective groups. It’s a weak region.
I still expect wholesale changes for this game mind, and beat Newport. I’d roll out The TANK as well. Make a bit of history.![]()
Anyone know how many tickets we've sold?
I think Luke Pearce may be injured?
Supposedly Wales u17s don't meet up until the end of the week so Tankiewicz could play, he may have to out of necessity!
Among the u21 regulars not called up are Dennis, Spiers, George, Perrett, Davies & Barton. Wouldn't be a shock if some of them are involved purely due to a lack of numbers
Looks like county have sold 1400. May outnumber us
BBM not happy with having so many missing. Kellyman to start, Perrett to be involved, Tankiewicz could make his debut.
