Thread: time for 3-5-2?

    time for 3-5-2?

could that be a way to get our main attacking players on the pitch at the same time?

back 3 of lawlor fish and Chambers, with Osho, Ng as cover .

Kpakio would be an ideal candidate for RWB.
not sure about Bagan at LWB, but he's surpassed expectations this season so far.

midfield duo of wintle or Turnbull + Robertson or J Colwill

R Colwill or Kelleyman in behind the strikers

Salech and Robinson up front with Davies/Ashford as replacements

Could be a solution as our wingers clearly aren't creating enough. LWB would be an issue as I see Bagan as an excellent candidate for the left centre back role. Tanner would be a good choice once he returns from injury

What is this obsession with 3-5-2?

On paper would work with Bagan and Kpakio but think we would be even flatter without those, particularly Kpakio.

Ng isn't a wingback at all and I'm not sure we have another lb or lwb about.

Because we have far more decent players who can play center back in a 3 than wingers, and arguably our most effective and creative wide player is stuck at right back.

Because it solves quite a few problems for us.

It puts all of our most effective attacking threats on the pitch at the same time - Salech, Robinson, R Colwill, Kpakio - in areas of the pitch that they can do some damage.

It would also allow Davies and Ashford to come on more centrally, which is their more natural position, and be part of a front 2 which I think they would benefit from.

We have several CBs who can pass out of defence, or even bring the ball out when required - and the likes of Ng or Bagan are potentially more natural back 3 players than fullbacks.

The main issue for me is we don't have a natural LWB - Bagan can do a job and has been more effective with the ball this season than I expected, but I don't see him overlapping like Kpakio can do on the right.

3-5-2 worth a try in these cup games, but big issue is Ruben's loss of form. needs time out.

I don't think it's his loss of form per-se, just we have become too easy to defend against. Too slow, too predictable teams have worked out how to nullify us and its unrealistic to expect Rubin to pull a rabbit out of a hat and create something when we aren't getting the ball to our attacking players quickly enough

when we've been chasing games with 2 up front we've looked at our most dangerous. Not sure of the formation behind but 2 up top is certainly worth a go.

Hilarious how people think that the management team will read this message board and just change their stance on formation and tactics.

    Nobody thinks that.
It's just a football discussion, same as chatting shit down the pub

Even if they change to 3-5-2 on Tuesday it clearly won't be because of a thread on here.

3-5-2, 4-4-2 as ;long as Robinson and Salech start, I'm OK with it.

    Couldn't agree more with this.
