Re: Oh Dear Gary
Out of interest, why do you think he wouldnt want that? He has proven with his outside BBC work that he is popular else where and can earn much more than what the BBC are paying him. He genuinely seems to like working on MOTDOriginally posted by A Quiet Monkfish View PostBBC to apologize to you. Bet you didn't want that !!!

Re: Oh Dear Gary
I,m pretty certain Lineker knew what he was doing. A particularly controversial tweet - much more stronger than anything before - and the suspension and support from some quarters just added to his online status. I don't doubt he was hoping he'd get taken off permanently and head off to Sky or somewhere, where he can get even more money. Now he's being seen as holding BBC to ransom, something which the saintly Lineker wouldn't have wanted.Originally posted by ManBearPig View PostOut of interest, why do you think he wouldnt want that? Re: Oh Dear Gary
That makes no sense. He could command a large fee beforehand and I'm not sure exactly if he has a contract but my guess is he could leave at the end of the season whenever he wants.Originally posted by A Quiet Monkfish View PostI,m pretty certain Lineker knew what he was doing. Huge mental gymnastics in this thread.

Re: Oh Dear Gary
That's an insane way of viewing what happened, if you don't mind me saying. No one moves company like that, especially when they can very easily do it the normal way. And apart from a hundred other reasons why this is insane, it makes no sense to do it in March, rather than the summer.Originally posted by A Quiet Monkfish View PostI,m pretty certain Lineker knew what he was doing.
