    Re: Oh Dear Gary

If he can bend the BBC over, he can bend anyone over, such is the power of "celebrity", and social media these days.

    Loaded w@nkers'r'us.

I find the whole think quite humorous to be honest. We had "Tommy Robinson" claiming he wasn't being allowed freedom of speech when he was stirring up racial hatred. Donald Trump used to complain that he wasn't allowed freedom of speech. There are several right-wing social media sites set up to promote freedom of speech. Over the last decade or so there has definitely been a battle between the political right and so-called snowflakes, in terms of being allowed to say what you like regardless of who it offends. No political side of the left-right scale has chirped more about freedom of speech than the political right, especially the far right.

Then along comes a TV presenter who, using freedom of speech, has made several strong criticisms about our right wing government culminating in a certain tweet posted last week. The result has been that it has turned the freedom-of-speech-loving right wingers into a frenzy, saying this presenter shouldn't have been posting such things. Freedom of speech for some, not all. All of a sudden, the snowflakes are on the right.

          You couldn't make it up.

Politics don't come into this for me, it's about moral's.
Lineker's in no position to tell any government what they should or shouldn't do from behind his fortified castle walls, while getting his teeth whitened and wearing Savile Row's finest suits.

            Eat the rich.

In which case you could argue that no-one is ever in a position to criticise any government. We might as well all give up.

You don’t appear sincere but I’ll go with it. Who in earth do you think the government is, a few Jonnies who fought for everything they’ve had in life and by some miracle have found power and fortune?

                  Bollocks.
The poor and struggling have every right to voice their concerns obviously.
When energy hikes, and food price hikes are hitting you hard, it's obviously a major concern.
When you're struggling to keep a roof over you and your families head, it's a major concern.
When you're in the "elderly" bracket, and feeling like you're not getting sufficient help/support, it's obviously a major concern.

When rich, entitled pr*cks, with more money than sense start to tell the government what they should or shouldn't do... Or "social media influencers" who, incidentally, are also doing well for themselves, start running the country...

                  It's a major concern!

Pull your head out of your arse Eric.

I disagree. Every person who votes is entitled to comment on the government and other elected personnel. I will draw the line at people who can't be bothered to vote but moan about everything that goes on.

In addition, you seem to be on the side of the working class and those who are struggling. Lineker is on the side of those people. Wake up and see it.

I have respect for rich people who at least want to try to stick up for those not so well off. He could quite easily just hide away and spend his money on himself. Most Tories do but they can’t get their heads around why some well off try to help poorer people. They just can’t see why anyone would.

                          You disagree about what?
Not being pedantic, but you didn't state what it is, that you're disagreeing with?

As for your point about voting, you're damn right. I'm sure most people DO vote though...

I can't agree with your point about Lineker.
It's easy to throw rocks, as I stated earlier, from behind your castle walls.
We're talking about a bloke who makes millions per year. It's not even comparable to working class people who struggle to stay above the bread line.

If you think Lineker's some sort of working-class hero, you're nuts pal.

The mere fact you're more interested in Lineker's earnings than his comments says it all. I'm out.

What the feck do you want me to say? You have the opinion that people with money aren't allowed any sort of socialist opinion. I disagree. It's entirely possible for wealthy people who have had working class upbringing to maintain those views even when they have money. There used to be a well-known radio presenter and jazz musician called Humphrey Lyttleton. He made a fortune out of music in his life yet he was always a staunch socialist his entire life and did amazing things for so many up and coming musicians.

You're right. I don't have a comeback. When I think someone is talking out of their arse, it's difficult to counter such stupidity.
