You're the one who's got him playing 64D chess with the government AND the BBC in less than 140 characters, and apparently everyone else has him on a pedestal

Over the last decade or so there has definitely been a battle between the political right and so-called snowflakes, in terms of being allowed to say what you like regardless of who it offends. No political side of the left-right scale has chirped more about freedom of speech than the political right, especially the far right.

Then along comes a TV presenter who, using freedom of speech, has made several strong criticisms about our right wing government culminating in a certain tweet posted last week. The result has been that it has turned the freedom-of-speech-loving right wingers into a frenzy, saying this presenter shouldn't have been posting such things. Freedom of speech for some, not all. All of a sudden, the snowflakes are on the right.

          You couldn't make it up.
look at the VAR, freedom of speech appears to be playing him onside , but there is clearly a touch from the bbc charter.

Help us out here, pip. It seems only a few short weeks ago that you announced your re-emergence breathlessly stating after the Reading game that "Last friday night walking back - I finally got the bug again hence why I re joined here".

Yet that was your first and last post on football. There may be a few cynics on here you may need to win over in convincing everyone you are an invigorating fresh new face rather than another silly persona off the conveyor belt.

First season 1976 - i was 9 years old - if that helps. I wasnt aware I had to meet a certain number of posts per week before i could post anything else. Up until very recently I'd rather not bother to talk about the level of football - but happy to engage you if you would like me to.

Was on this board - a long time ago, had enough of it. Came back on after the Reading game (well observed), went to the Brizzle game (if that helps you) . my son comes with me to most games now - so yes I have the bug again - and also like to chew the fat on other things - as most blokes do I guess.

Lineker his tax fine and appeal - the bbc decision will be in his favour (in my opinion) , my other opinion - he needs to decide if he is a punter or a politician just my 2p worth.

                  Re: Oh Dear Gary

Apologies Pip for the challenge. We get a lot of rejoiners on here with a bit of a dubious back story.

Anyway, you are lucky to have rejoined a home of like minded people. By way of introduction there is RonnieBird (oh he stopped posting), HyperboreanCCFC (oh him as well). Ok there is Lither_1927 (oh, banned but still lurking), Wait, what about Clandestine and RedSetter (oh, just banned).

I guess you will just have to make do with the WalesBales/TWGL1 twins for company. Still who knows who might turn up next to keep you company? If someone does emerge you can bet your bottom dollar they will have shared "values" when they do so and a great rejoining tale to tell.

Thanks for the pm. Bit strange but each to their own. You didn't say what your old user name was though!

I don't doubt he was hoping he'd get taken off permanently and head off to Sky or somewhere, where he can get even more money. Now he's being seen as holding BBC to ransom, something which the saintly Lineker wouldn't have wanted.
if Lineker wanted to leave the BBC he could have just upped and left after this episode.

tax law and employment law are two different things.
