If humans still exist. I’m sure the banks think they will what with 40 year mortgages being available

    Here’s a timeline

    1960’s - Oil Gone in 10 years

1970’s - Another Ice Age in 10 years

1980’s - Acid Rain will destroy all crops

1990’s - The Ozone Layer will be gone in 10 years

2000’s - Ice Caps will be gone

I know one thing most of these predictions ( computer modelling) has resulted in more taxes.

The ozone layer didn't go because humanity worked together to stop emissions of chemicals. This is something we aren't doing really for climate change.

The ice caps are melting at a rapid rate. We will see summers without any Ice in the north pole in my lifetime.

Oceans and lakes are acidifying, the effects of that will be catastrophic.

Is it any wonder why gen z and millenials are so so frustrated with boomers?

        Here it is.

Can you describe the physical process which scientists say is causing man made climate change, what is it about that process you disagree with?

I guarantee not one denier can answer this, they're up there with flat earthers.
Bit harsh that, I'm sure they'll get round to answering your question eventually, just give them a decade or two.

It's not mental. What I've said is correct.

Whatever the rights and wrongs of the green movement, they aren't suffragettes. The suffragettes were fighting for the right to speak. The green movement (like every one) has that right.

And it is true that any political movement has to be economically and socially sustainable too - or else it will lose support.

That's why it's often pretty frustrating when you look at the people who spearhead these movements who have all the zeal, pomp and self importance of a Victorian missionary, but fundementally don't care about people in the here and now.

You need to have both to succeed. It no use just telling us we are all going to die if we don't listen to you, because even if that is true, it will just lead to less people listening to you.

              1. Climate change isn’t happening

              2. Climate change is happening but it’s not caused by humans

              3. Climate change is happening caused by humans but no big deal

              4. Climate change is happening caused by humans but the economy is more important / China or India have carbon emissions

              5. Climate change is happening and is a big deal but it’s too late to do anything about it

              You're on stage four Jimbo.

No, I entirely believe climate change is happening, and is a really important issue, and it should be taken forward by sensible people not by Hooray Henry's glueing themselves to the trains and bridges people use to go about their lives.

Climate change has been happening in recurring warming and cooling cycles since the world began, and long before humans set foot on the planet.

According to the modelling its appears this may be the case, but it’s modelling. They said the Great Barrier Reef would disappear however contrary to the modelling it’s thriving.

                        10 polluters
China, with more than 10,065 million tons of CO2 released.
United States, with 5,416 million tons of CO2.
India, with 2,654 million tons of CO2.
Russia, with 1,711 million tons of CO2.
Japan, 1,162 million tons of CO2.
Germany, 759 million tons of CO2.
Iran, 720 million tons of CO2.

These are the countries that we need to focus on before we take drastic action here.

You probably framed the question wrong. It's like asking everyone if they have stopped beating their wife yet.

To answer the question is to be a climate denier. Very few are.

What is the case is that some people probably have different opinions to you on how to best deal with it.

For example, if you don't think people should be prosecuted for vandalism or serious disruption to others lives, I would suggest you are setting back the climate agenda, not helping it. That's a reasonable position and is taken with a firm belief that man made climate change is real.

Because there are no easy answers. Why don't you propose 5 thing you would like to happen to help address climate change?

There are people in this thread who are climate change deniers though.

                              1. Replace the majority of our energy supply with Nuclear Power Stations, this should have been done in the 80s/90s/2000s, this is one of the things I actually agree with Thatcher on
                              2. Massive investment in public transport and cycling infrastructure over cars
                              3. Worldwide effort into Fusion technology
                              4. Worldwide effort into carbon capture technology in the air and via the oceans. You might think this is a pie in the sky idea but the oceans are acidifying, the consequences of this left unchecked are devastating, human civilisation suffer badly.
                              5. Plant about a trillion trees

A lot these are easier said than done, three should have been done already, two we're just making token efforts really. The longer we wait the more painful the economic consequences.

I largely agree, although I'm not sure what 'effort into' entails.

Real big mistake of Germany to get rid of nuclear. I must say I have never really understood the greens vehement opposition to it, which I think has lessened in time.

I'm not really anti car either. I'd welcome far more focus on how we are actually using energy, our reliance on phones, global supply chains, 'next day delivery', things like that that really add.

I know so many people who think they are green but they really aren't.
