We don't need Trident. If the UK doesn't become a total dick on the worldwide stage, we don't need that as a deterrent for others. Unfortunately the UK still thinks of itself as a major global player that could upset someone.

Let's be honest. The UK isn't going to fire Trident as a first attack. It's there to prevent nukes coming to us, but how effective is it? If another country wants to nuke us, they will and Trident will only be a piss poor retaliatory move with millions of Brits dead. Diplomacy is still, by far, the best option.

My only issue with Trident being scrapped is that the billions saved will end up with the most wealthy.
