I was listening to the Rest is Politics podcast yesterday in which Alistair Campbell (hardly a political soul mate of Jeremy Corbyn and Diane Abbott) said Corbyn and John McDonnell were always voting against the Blair Government, but there was never any thought given to booting them out of the party because they had no real influence and so were not preventing them from governing as they wanted to - he didn’t mention Abbott who, from memory, was not in the habit of rebelling against the Government as much as the other two were. Campbell did not say it in so many words, but his implication was that the leadership of the current Labour Party were overreacting in treating Diane Abbott as they appear to be doing and I agree with him.

If Alistair Campbell told me it was raining I would go outside to check

I would let her stand if I was in charge but it would be above a trap door

A change of tone from Starmer, looks like Diane Abbott will be the Labour candidate for Hackney.

Sadly,my sole motivation when it comes to the election is getting rid of this Government and so, just like most of the country I suspect, I’m not as bothered about Starmer as I would normally be.

However, I actually back him in this instance as I think the right decision was made in the end even if the whole thing was handled really clumsily.

                    Re: Diane Abbott

Starma - did his bar exams wit the elite of society. He is as much a socialist as I am, he just wants the power. If he cant decide or u turns on Abbot, cant say whether a woman can have a penis or not - then what the feck is he going to be like when he has to make a more important decision - other than ask Angie what he should do. Whose first response is usually to call the other side scum

You are centre slightly left (by your own admission) - you arent a socialist, you are Tory light - and you probably hate yourself for it - it's ok, you will survive.

Starma did his bar exams with a friend from Cardiff High, and according to him - Starma is very intelligent, as dull as dishwater and extremely indecisive. Angela Raynor scum comments for you

What is it about you right wingers that you can’t call non Tory politicians by their proper names? How does where a person is educated define what their politics should be? Angela Raynor does not “usually” call Tories scum, although, judging by some of the Conservative chancers who have left Parliament since the last election, she’d be right to do so in some cases.

                            As I said, codswallop.
