Of course. But it isn't the reason behind people's mortgages rising!

Unless magically she has also done it across Europe, or did it before she was PM, which would be quite something.

Why do people insist on suggesting there are simple or convenient single causes behind complex issues? It's just simply not true.

Her actions caused the increases virtually overnight. Mortgage lenders were pulling products off the market like there was no tomorrow. There’s none so blind….

It wasn’t the single reason but it was the major event that created the post budget spike (big spike) in UK mortgages.

Other winds were blowing but Truss and Kwartang set off a typhoon!

It's not deflection, it's the truth. That matters.

Of course the budget led to a sudden spike. A nightmare for the small number renewing at that point or on variable rates, and she paid for it with her job. But they were rising beforehand, then slowed down to slower than it was rising before the budget and they have risen across Europe

Mortgage rates were at historical lows. Saying the rises were due to her budget is, I'm sorry, a lie.

If you dig deep you will find mortgages were always going up , without or without Truss , trouble is the Bank of England kept interest rates too , printed quantitative easing and that went on far too long after the recession and Covid , folk went out over extended , bought mortgages at silly low rates thinking it would stay at those levels , now they are fecked nothing to do with Truss ............
