The Tories deserve all they have got for the contempt they have shown since their landslide victory 5 years ago, those twats don’t have to endure any of the suffering the people have though, just swan off Scott free….when almost half the people don’t bother to vote it says it all. Let’s see the corbynites rise up within the Labour Party now…..

Funny how it's now considered a joke by those on the right when it was the right that wanted nothing to do with any sort of proportional or alternative voting system a decade or so ago when the Lib Dems were banging on about it.

Same as how they suddenly warned against the dangers or a 'super majority' in the last few weeks. Wasn't an issue for them when they were asking for as big a mandate as possible to 'get Brexit done'.

PR would have been a France style disaster by the looks of the voting share yesterday. Not many politicians will be looking at those results and want to change from FPTP.

Labour are winning, but this is nothing like 1997 - a lot of Tories are saying Labour haven’t won this election, we lost it, why did it take them so long to realise it?
            174 seats is latest majority

An awful lot of what has happened is down to the Conservative vote collapsing as you say, but I think the Lib Dems have been helped out a lot by tactical voting and Labour not to as big an extent. The size of Labour’s majority should ensure at least two terms, but, if I were a betting man I’d be checking the odds for Labour being beaten in 2029 because you look at that vote share and the turn out figure and it tells me that Labour’s win is built on sand - I don’t agree with Farage very often, but I do when he says Labour’s honeymoon period will be shorter than you normally get for an incoming Government.

Yes Bob people will expect to see instant change for the better, that mean cash in your pocket, they are going to be very disappointed I think….shortest honeymoon period ever. Less than 50% turn out in some places…..

Labour have hamstrung themselves by declaring that they won't increase income tax.
People care about things, NHS in particular, and that needs money.
If they had come clean and said there needs to be a rise in tax, coupled with a big rise in tax-free allowance, I think people would take accept that it needs doing.

Imagine the irreversible damage you could do with a majority like that, just like Boris used his super majority to cause mayhem.

Who is the right? Can you point out any right wing policies during the past 4 1/2 years?

Fantastic night for Plaid! Won all 4 target seats (Caerfyrddin comfortably despite Labour throwing the kitchen sink at it) and good second in places as diverse as Bangor, Cardiff West and Caerphilly

                              Really?

Apart from arguably Sunak's furlough scheme during Covid all the governmental policies in the past 4.5 years have been right wing - reflecting the views and priorities of the 'Get Brexit Done' post 2019 Tory Party.

Even when they have been raising taxes and in a very limited way increasing some public spending, it has been done from a 'small state', isolationist or right libertarian stance.

And not even James claims that Rwanda is a fluffy liberal policy!

                                It's probably for the best.

They can get through the majority of their policy and we can accurately judge them
