You think it will be a good idea to let free much more prisoners, and that only a third of them should be there?

Timpsons have been employing ex offenders for over 20 years.

Over 10% of their workforce are ex offenders.

You are really getting your knickers in a twist over something that has happened - and worked well - under Blair, Brown, Cameron, May, Johnson, Truss and Sunak.

            Very odd.

I agree. Timpsons have a fantastic policy on this.

I knew that I was having a bit of fun, it's a nice little story but he's employed 600 in 20 years, there were more than 45,500 prisoners released last year so 30 per year he employs 0.065 of them, so you could say he's getting the best of the best.

He is now prisons minister and is talking about a third that shouldn't be in prison. Talk of a third of prisoners that could potentially leave prison and linking it with his company's success in employing less than one-tenth of one percent is ridiculous!

He's a concern and one to watch as is Angela Rayner and housing and planning lets see what they do in twelve months!

No more state pension for those with adequate private pensions, and food vouchers in lieu of state benefits for everybody else. No more beer and takeaway curry while watching Netflix or Sky Sports!

Bit harsh on the oldies, I’d go after the work shy, some 2 million able to work but don’t. Get them building a new m4 like the chain gangs used to, that should liven the lazy twats up a bit…..

I heard it's all on the table under Net Zero to reduce consumption. Ye canny spend what you haven't got.

Brilliant idea, let's hope it happens and divert the dosh to those who need it most. I didn't vote for Starmer and it's early days yet but so far he and his team look light years away more credible and professional than the charlatans he succeeded. Green shoots of hope and all that.

Maybe it was here or somewhere else but no one ever thought to ask starmer ok you won’t put up income tax and NI, what new taxes are you going to introduce?
Seems to already be accepted that capital gains, stamp duty going up.

Capital gains should be a pretty simple mission, encourage the average person to save/invest by raising the threshold, match the bandings to income tax unless you for some reason want rich people who don't contribute anything other than capital to get richer at the expense of poorer people who have to actually work. The Tories did the opposite as far as I can remember.

Stamp duty, god knows, I would leave it alone because I don't really understand the purpose of it and try and actually fix the housing crisis by building houses for once.

It’s social housing we desperately need. Just building private housing isn’t the answer. A mass Social Housing initiative to reverse the sale of Council Housing during the 80s. Nobody’s addressed this. It needs to be massive, UK wide, and legislation brought in that it is illegal to sell social houses. They are built to be recycled.
