The announcement this morning was at about the same time that Southgate announced he was leaving. Sky News must have given 5 minutes to Vaughan Gething and the rest of the hour to the Southgate story.

Yeah I was in a short meeting and came out and everyone had resigned.

Southgate is a big story and more people in the UK interested in it, but I'm glad Ten O'Clock news focused on Gething. It would have been very poor not to

Scotland have 129 in their parliament, Northern Ireland has 90. If anything, the Senedd has some catching up to do.

No there are quite enough assembly members already in most peoples view

Especially at this time of a cost of living crisis

From what I can see it’s only the valleys that manage to keep Labour in power, everyone else has woken up to bollox they have been delivering in wales for the past 26 years

For reference, I don't get to vote in Wales anymore.

I take your point about Labour but I think Labour is a more tainted brand in Wales than England. However, I think you also need to factor in Reform in any Senedd election. It might be an opportunity for them to cement their place following their recent showing.

And that’s reason enough not to hold an election. No need, just get on with it. 50 corpses would do a better job than RT and his crew.

If only we had a means of comparing Wales to England!

You are right otherwise...get on with it, but the problem is there is no majority, so they have to have support of every Labour MS on every issue to move forward and in a party plainly divided (in Wales that is) that isn't easy

Why on Earth have we got regional assemblies in Scotland, Wales and NI? Britain is a tiny country, were not even as big as Texas! Whatever next? Regional assemblies in San Marino?

Its the question I ask myself time and time again after voting for the assembly to stay on the right side of my partner at the time , a Welsh speaking nationalist

I did my bit but she and her mother couldn't even be arsed to vote on the day and went shopping in carmarthen instead

I am amazed that for all the bluster of Plaid Cymru they have less members of the welsh parliament , that they were crying for years for .....than Billy Bunter farmer boy and his tory mates

I’m sure there’ll be many who will see who made this video and think it’s not worth bothering with, but I think the presenter gets Gething spot on in the opening ten minutes or so. Gething’s habit of talking to critics as if they were naughty children is both unappealing and unfortunate politically - his attempt to play the race card is inappropriate as well, is he saying he would have been able to behave the way he has with no comeback if he was white?

I don't agree but I am white so maybe don't see things from her experiences
