  • Social Care Being Kicked Down The Road Again

Sorry Labour NHS broken isnt a solution .

    Cross party approach.

    Royal Commission After

The above two should get Labour to a 5 year exuse .

400 seat majority gives any government a solution to fix .

All that's needed is to increase spend yo 14% per individual to align our care with our European partners.

    So raise the tax .

Social care was broken when Thatcher privatised the care system

Taking it back into government control would require enormous investment

I am sure labour and the liberals would love to do that but there is a large flock of voters of tory and reform who don't like taxation so labour were stumped .....if they had mentioned a penny increase in tax to improve the nhs and social care the tory press and their reform cousins would have crucified any chance of that

For me the only fair way is to put it's funding into its own department, working closely with the NHS. This fudge of having it under council control is ridiculous

People complaining about paying loads of council tax but not getting bins collected regularly, when the reality is the vast majority of the budget is going on care.

You'd think that one centralised body would have a better chance of getting food deals with the private care operators. I bet some of them are absolutely rinsing certain councils at the moment.

It's the funding of that idea that's the problem

Yeah I agree. Easier for them to try and hide it, so they can let the councils take the flack

Well the liberals put it to the forefront and good for them

But the reality is the provision is appalling

The country either funds the NHS and care

Or hundreds of thousands of people suffer

It's sadly laughable when hardcore voters who over the years have refused to back increased investment into care suddenly start blaming the councils when it's their relatives and loved ones need support ......which thanks to them isn't there

Boris was full of it , saying he would fix the system

I think Starmer should push the boat out , increase funding to the NHS and Care , integrate them as you suggest and let people see the results

Then if at the next election hes criticised for raised taxes he can say ......OK let's go back to the shambles we have now

What do you want ? An improvement in services for everyone who's going to need it ?

Or 3 holidays abroad because you have voted for low taxes again?

If starmer or whoever is in charge does the same as before then the blame is clear

The nhs employs approximately 1.6 million people, in your opinion how many should it employ? , bearing in mind the nhs is something like the worlds 5th largest employer behind, us state army, Chinese army, india state railway and Walmart

Well we clearly need more doctors and nurses

So they have to be paid for somehow

How many doctors and nurses have we got?
And how many do you think we need?

Do you think just throwing money at it will solve the problems or do you think there are others we need to consider, thanks in advance for you answer
