I'm just concerned about your mental health. I handle it like I would towards anyone suffering a severe malady. I hope you make a full recovery in time.

Yes. I think people in the country are generally a bit bored of it. Don't you? The reaction to this long awaited report created didn't create many headlines. It doesn't mean no one will ever discuss it.

      Is that okay?
I think you’re wrong, people aren’t bored with COVID and wanting to, in that phrase so beloved by Conservative MPs over the past 14 years, “move on” from it. Instead, it’s more like they are world weary about it, they want things to return to “normal”, but know that they can’t completely because of what we experienced three and four years ago.

The Conservative Party will be having all sorts of inquests as to why the election went so badly for them and they’ll be making a big mistake if these do not include a recognition that COVID and how they prepared for and handled it played a big part in the Party’s worst ever election result.

Here’s some people who aren’t forgetting about COVID and I agree with them 100 per cent about Grenfell which is in danger of being forgotten about.

Thanks for your concern Dorcus. Many people will struggle with mental health over their lives and there is nothing wrong with that, but making an observation that the country are tired of COVID related news isn't a sign of it. And having seen your contributions elsewhere, you don't strike me as the kind of guy someone would turn to for help!

Yes, weary is a better word than bored.

Sorry, just realised I’ve not posted this on the alternate site.
I can understand many on here not wanting to highlight the report as it points to austerity, brexit, scientific groupthink and poor planning since 2011 as some of the main causes we dealt with the pandemic in the way we did and suffered so badly for it in so many different ways (and still do).

The first two can be laid squarely at the doorstep of the Tories but for the last one both national and devolved governments dropped the ball.

Actually on the second one, it's the collective failure of our parliament to come to a decision, which distracted the govt and snarled all decision making. Thankfully it was sorted just before the pandemic but it should have been done at the very least one year before that.

Well that just illustrated how wrong you can be. I rest my case.
