They are not lofty questions. A group of very powerful and influential people came up with a computer model that predicted a future disaster scenario. They then set about formulating a set of policies to avert said disaster. We know what these policies are and what the end goal is. So the question is quite simple, what tools do you need to get from A to B, and is there any evidence that they are being deployed in the here and now?

      I agree. Lofty was flippant.

This is a fundamentally different question to your earlier one but the short answer is yes (I'm too tired for any more long discussions). There is plenty of evidence. Where we differ is that I can only live (and cope) day-to-day. I won't be alive and nor will anyone posting on here likely be beyond 2050. It's a kind of balloon debate though really. Which can be fun. I'm just too hot and tired.

Just to add, it's much easier when you ask questions or frame things in the form of a question than when you post in other ways (like last week). It's more interesting to me.

Yes, broadly speaking there are two groups, those who are getting on a bit and those who are younger, plus there's a subgroup of those with children/grandchildren and those without.

If you've ever had an addiction or have ever had a loved one who has or known anyone with one then living in the moment, mindfulness and meditation are useful tools instead of worrying about things you cannot change. Part of recovery for some people is based on "grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference."

Some people leave the God part in but I'm not one of them. Why am I saying this? Because we can become addicted to all kinds of things and it's useful to know that when the fun stops, stop. Obsessions can be part of the problem too.

So. It's all related to why TF are we worried about most of the stuff we get obsessed about?

I may be wired differently, but I don't respond emotionally to data, I just use it as a part of the decision making process.

Most humans have never been any different, yet most also seem to think they can blame God (who they also deny exists) for all that is wrong with life, the universe and everything?

On the flip side some people think when things go well it is gods doing.

Phrases ending ".......thank God" are common, yet mainly come from people who don't want anything to do with Him?
However your point is valid and people will need to find out for themselves the validity of such a notion.

Because people thought god was the be all and end all of their lives.
So scared to think there is any thing different on offer.

No, they thought dead religion was the answer, and it never was.
Rejecting that is good, but finding out the horse you bet on is lame doesn't ever win you the race.
