Here is your quote butting back against what Neil Basu said about Farage.

Neil Basu is a very political former police officer. Lat week he was quoted on the front of the guardian saying the "Rochdale incident" (at Manchester airport) was down to racism, with zero evidence of course.

Clearly he is the guardians go to man.

All very unhelpful. We need unifiers.

Some people are able to own their mistakes, you should ponder why you are not one of them!
I acknowledged I mixed up the two ex officers names Cyril. That can happen.

The point is about the media giving a voice to people who in these instances aren't unifying.

But again, for the third time, you know this already.

Kudos to Steven Gerrard and Anthony Gordon who have given £10k each to the victims of the Southport stabbings.

Has to be more than pure coincidence that Nigel Farage and National Front have the same initials.

Judge lifted reporting restrictions today and the murderer can be named. He said: 'By continuing to prevent full reporting at this stage has the disadvantage of allowing others who are up to mischief to continue to spread misinformation in a vacuum and runs the risk that when the information becomes publicly available in six days' time, that will provide an additional excuse for a fresh round of public disorder.'

Hopefully this will calm some of the lunatics down

The kid turns 18 next week anyway, so releasing his name makes little difference.
Haven't read anything about him yet, but I wonder how many of the lunatics took into account that Rwanda is about 92% Christian and 2% Muslim before taking to the streets.

Judging by the pictures. I'm not sure many of them had the mental capacity to think that deeply about it. 'its sunny so let's go smash things' seems to be about their level

It turns out the kid is not a migrant but is 100% British and indeed was born in Cardiff. Our Nige need not have wasted his time yesterday and didn't need to mobilize his stormtroopers. Of course on the other hand it's entirely possible Nige considers the Welsh "foreigners".

Does feel like we are in tinderbox more than at my time at least since the London / England riots of 2011.

In a situation where several events that range in scale from individuals to communities to domestic or international events can be a spark for serious disorder to occur.

At the moment it feels like it could be a long summer

All I know is that it's not a healthy environment online and it's no wonder there are more and more people (including a significant number of Gen Zs) who are choosing to unplug.

From my own perspective, I feel I want less to do with online connection. I spent 10 years away from social platforms. I understand there's irony here because I'm posting now, but there are certain things in my life now that are just way too toxic to be part of and whilst I'm trying really hard to be a better person regarding debate and discussion, it's hard work and I wonder these days if the benefits outweigh the frustrations.

I'm not sure what the answers are. This is just a mind dump after watching that vid.

Good night people and stay safe.

And, of course, you'll get the likes of this chancer doing his best to make sure the tinderbox catches light.

Read somewhere yesterday that George Osborne was saying that members of the two main partiers should be nore proactive in tackling Farage straight on - think that's easier said than done because it could drive more people towards him.

They probably wouldn't have had a clue, they were reacting to made up stuff on social media, that's the problem, people can post whatever made up nonsense they like on social media and millions of people will believe it.

Ah yes, the arsonist returns to the fire he’s set and tells the firefighters how to put out the fire. https://t.co/jb4qFwSAdi

                                Yep, politicians gonna politicise unfortunately.

I do think there's some truth in what he's saying though. There has been growing discontent about a lot of things for a long time and a general desire to push things under the carpet and a general perception that everyone is not being treated equally.

Social media, the established media and the internet again making these situations more likely. Unfortunately.
