Re: Sign The Petion Keep The Elderly Warm
The delightful RT Davies opposed the Welsh govt decision to roll out free school meals to primary school kids, saying that it should have been means tested.
Why one rule for kids and one for pensioners?

LOM isn't interested in kids nor pensioners; he's only interested in a Fascist state coup.Originally posted by The Bloop View PostThe delightful RT Davies opposed the Welsh govt decision to roll out free school meals to primary school kids, saying that it should have been means tested.

I get the feeling if the last government was enacting this policy then your response would have been different.Originally posted by Dorcus View PostLOM isn't interested in kids nor pensioners; he's only interested in a Fascist state coup.
Obviously fascists would have been involved but in that scenario it would have been the government!

I think people just find the hypocrisy darkly comic tbh.Originally posted by SLUDGE FACTORY View PostOK to cut in the name of austerity , right across the board ......well done Tories
Cuts which will affect mostly cash rich pensioners ......horrible labour party
Tories cut benefits- fascists
Labour cut benefits - The people mentioning it are fascists.
Make it make sense!

Re: Sign The Petion Keep The Elderly Warm
It wasn't actually. There was a huge budget deficit (far bigger than now) and no one would lend to someone who couldn't show how they would reduce it.Originally posted by SLUDGE FACTORY View PostAusterity was a choice
Nearly every country did it. The EU enforced it upon Greece, remember?
What was a choice was the extent of austerity, but the act of it itself was not really a choice.
But my point here was the hypocrisy.

Tories cut benefits (sorry LIFELINES for the poorest people) AND diminish the public services the same people rely upon AND reduce taxes for their (scandalously wealthy) friends = Fascists
Labour cut benefits (sorry FRIVOLOUS BONUSES for their rich mates) AND redistribute taxpayers had earned money (to those most in need) = Progressives
Hallelujah! Sanity at last.
