Now, this proposal will see the death of pubs so we are told - more nonsense. They were already pricing themselves out of business.
Then the idiots start banging on about personal choice - yes their choice to blow poison into others faces. We can’t choose to do what we like on many things, why is poisoning other people so sacred?
Cos we live in a society and accept a degree of tolerance of other people's enjoyment that we may not enjoy; loud music, drunken singing, cars that pollute etc.

It's like a car engine running inside Vs one running outside. Entirely different situation.

I see groups of adults sat on tables outside pubs all the time, the odd one smoking, others not. I don't see a problem.

If a stranger is literally blowing smoke in your face then that is something else, but that's like someone swearing at you as opposed to you hearing someone swear on another table.

For those that wanted change, they are getting it, pubs closing, nanny state, 10p increase on petrol to follow, won't really affect me much though.

Robbing Peter to pay Thomas the tank engine driver.

Pay per mile will be along soon too, replacing VED

It does seem a bit weird to look at pubs and think that the social issue that needs fixing is....smoking.

Pubs could start by looking at more important issues like drastically reducing the price of a pint. Cut the price in half and they'll have to employ bouncers at the door, fags or no fags!

That is a really sanctimonious take on everybody who smokes. If you judged everybody who drinks on the actions of a rather large minority after they have had a drink, you could make a really good case for banning alcohol tomorrow.

I get (what I think is) your point about drinking but 74,600 deaths from smoking in a year, I don't think it's that weird tbh
