Get your predictions in here - how do you think his second term will go?

Non of this vague stuff either, be as specific as possible.

Will he be assassinated by a lunatic?
Will he try to cling on to power beyond this term?
what do you think he will achieve domestically and internationally?
Will his unconventional appointments be a success or a disaster?

Will he get out manoeuvred by the likes of Xi, Putin, Musk or will he come out on top?

      Re: Trump predictions

Seems he’s already saying that although he’s not expecting to stay on, he might be persuaded if his party wants him to.

My answers, no he won’t be assassinated. He will try to cling on to power, but I’m not sure he’ll see out the term - I think his health may break down. Probably more “trickle down” tax cuts, bizarrely, despite him being elected because of “the state of the economy”, he has inherited a recovering one, but tariffs, which I think he’ll press on with, will change that. As Jon says there will be mass deregulation and welfare cuts and I think there’ll be an attempt to deport immigrants, but nowhere near as many as talked about before the election. His appointments will be disasters, possibly dangerous ones. Based on his first term, he’ll get outmanoeuvred by Putin, Xi etc and I predict there’ll be a bust up with Musk within a year.

          Re: Trump predictions

I suspect that like last time his period as president will prove to be somewhat less eventful than his detractors suggest, although anything less than the creation of a fully blown fascist state would also fit that scenario!

Will he be assassinated? I doubt it

Will he try to cling to power after this term? No. But he will work to create an heir.

Domestically he will be hard pressed to improve the growth of the American economy. I think he will hope and possibly achieve growth in living standards though and people may "feel" better off. But if so it will be largely down to better global headwinds, the same as Labour will do here. I suspect in due course he will face significant opposition particularly from Democrat run cities. Id like to think the US won't become more divided but I suspect it will. Id expect Republican power to be curtailed in the midterms which will make him angry, less predictable and more determined to fulfil his legacy. He will finish the wall. He won't deport millions of illegal immigrants but expect an increase in deportations.

Internationally, I suspect he will seek to calm the situation in Ukraine but I think the most likely scenario is a freeze, with Russia still controlling the land they hold. I can't see a change in Palestine. I think he will support the "total destruction" of Hamas. On China, I expect the relations to be the same as now. China will want to do business with him ultimately

          Strap in for the ride!

⬆️ I meant to add..I think a lot of the domestic agenda will be more political and culture in nature. Rowing back of what is generally classed under "woke" ideas etc

Half of bankruptcies in the US are due to medical bills that can't be paid. That situation will worsen.

His appointment of that Kennedy idiot is a portent

I wouldn't be surprised if someone attempts to assasinate Trump

I think Dorcus was suggesting that she'd be trying to get him sleeping with the fishes.

I have seen a few commentators referring to Musk as Trump's First Lady.

Not in a sexual sense of course.

But as the figure that stands beside him and (maybe) is a power behind the throne.

I've been trying to think of a similar example from the past to the Trump / Musk political relationship and I can't.
