    Re: Trump predictions

Not my opinion, but some say the world won't be ending in 12 years time due to Trump and global warming.

      Re: Trump predictions

Zelensky says war will end sooner with Trump in charge. Sounds positive at least.

"Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky says he is certain the war with Russia will “end sooner” than it otherwise would have done once Donald Trump becomes US president.

Zelensky said he had a “constructive exchange” with Trump during their phone conversation after his victory in the US presidential election.

He did not say whether Trump had made any demands regarding possible talks with Russia, but said he'd not heard anything from him that was contrary to Ukraine’s position."

The Ukrainian president also said his country "must do everything" to ensure the war ends next year.

I think it probably will, but to Russia's benefit

It'll be as though Ukraine should have offered up no resistance in the first place and many many Ukrainian lives will have been in vain.

              Re: Trump predictions

On Radio 4 the other day I heard an American describing Trump and Musk as being like "two tomcats in a pillow case". Two very big egos here and as Trump has to be seen as THE star, I wonder how long this relationship will last?

No but if I had to guess based on very little then I'd say but Zelensky's pretty shrewd, he's probably just playing the game and stroking Trump's ego

Yep did I read they are losing up to a 1000 men a day at the moment for tiny gains of land? Heard Zelenskyy is happy to lose it as Russia is losing so many men and surely he can’t go on like that? And surely it can’t. Love the way Putin says it’s a game changer to fire USA made missiles into Russia yet it’s ok for him to fire Iranian ones? When this war ends, the recriminations are going to last forever, such a waste of life akin to trench warfare in ww1

                    Re: Trump predictions

It seems that only way to stop this whole idiocy is for Ukraine to cede Luhansk, Donetsk and Crimea…which is a crying shame.

Part of the concession though should be allowing Ukraine to join NATO and if they wish, the EU.
Sadly, when this all kicked off NATO expansion was one of Russia’s “justifications” (even though I think it was a mineral land grab primarily).

                    It was all so unnecessary.
I can see the Russians wanting Sebastopol as a port in The Black Sea and Donetsk for its mineral wealth.

Zaporizhzhia should be a red line and imo will be used as a big factor in negotiations as it is also rich in Lithium and Titanium.
