    Cut off her Internet

As do often happens, you have ignored the original question.

Should the police have been called out for this?

So you're saying we shouldn't call out genocide for fear of offending people?

She is one of the numerous right wing commentators who a few years ago would have been pointed out a being dangerously close to being anti semitic ......like lots of the far right football crew

But these days uses a sort of faux concern for Israel to fire off scatterguns at the Palestinians and anyone supporting them ....the left , trade unions or in this case it seems , the police

There is a difference between supporting Palestine and being opposed to occupation.....me ... ......and being a hamas sympathiser ......not me .....or anti Jewish.....not me

Not followed this story really, but the whole idea of the police investigating non-crimes is just ridiculous.

The police have a social role in terms of education, visiting schools etc, but they shouldnt be pissing about with this crap until every single burglary is solved etc etc.

If the woman hadn't posted the nonsense in the first place there would be no story

Well yeah but you could say that about any intervention in free speech.

No not necessarily. Some things just shouldn't be said.

Some things are undoubtedly unwise and rude. But if they are non-crimes I think that says it all about whether the police should be involved or not. But as I say, I haven't followed it much

Quite and agreed but this wasn't a non crime. The woman in question will get off with a mere slap on the wrists. Let's hope she's more circumspect in the future and starts writing more interesting copy.

However, just to be clear: this kind of thing, even though she would've been near the mark about Hamas, is incendiary and awful and "sickening" for Muslims but a banner suggesting Israel are committing genocide, a false rhetoric aimed at boosting sympathy for Palestine (and thus Hamas) and painting Israel as evil, will have no knock-on effects whatsoever for Jewish people?
There were 1500 Jewish people on that march as part of the Jewish Bloc (and many hundreds of other Jewish marchers not with the Bloc) all calling Israel's destruction of Gaza and its people 'genocide'!

Jewish people (Jewish Voice For Peace) have been leading the Palestine solidarity demonstrations in the USA and Canada from the start. Jewish people have been prominent in the solidarity demonstrations in the UK, Ireland, the Netherlands and other parts of Europe. There were Jewish demonstrators behind police lines in Amsterdam denouncing the Israeli government and calling for a ceasefire whilst the Maccabi Tel Aviv fans were rioting and joking about 17,000 child deaths at the hands of the IDF.

They understand the difference between challenging the murderous actions of a violent racist state and the defending the position of Jewish people with no connection (and often no sympathy) to that state, even if apologists like you don't.

                              Yada yada (whatever that is)!

There is no excuse for genocide. There is no excuse for anti semitism. It is simple. There is no complicated equation between the two.
