Although I also agree with Trotsky's definition (not incompatible with the one above) which places fascism in the context of crises in the world capitalist system. The 1920s/1930s were in many ways different from the 2020s - but there are also similarities and threads from that time.

I don't want any mega rich tech barons (or other mega rich people with power and influence) to shape our politics or society - and I certainly don't want Blackrock pulling strings and putting politicians on its payroll. Watching Starmer fawning over them was sickening.
an awful a lot of that does read a wee bit like the welsh senate , and fair play to gething he took more money than stamer

I think that’s a fair definition in my opinion.
It’s very similar to authoritarian communist regimes without the racial aspect.
Obviously people of religion were subjugated rather than their race.

Fascism, Communism, Nazism and now Islamism were/are pretty cool with eradicating human beings that didn’t fit their ideals…all for the greater good of course a couple of these ism’s actually offered the option to change and yield.

It’s good to see you acknowledge Blackrock as I think that only a few of the “Far Right Loons” have done so previously.

I don’t know if I’m left or right anymore.
Probably somewhat centralist with left leanings towards Nationalized Utilities, Fair Pay, Equal Rights for all.
But my head ruling my heart, it’s quite obvious to me that lunatics have taken over the asylum…intentionally placed there after years of Postmodernism playing a slow game, where the proles have been replaced by intersectionality to invoke A Brave New World.

In addition let’s address what’s in the news.

Islamic Rape Gangs who believed that it was ok to prey on non Muslim girls because they were Kafir.
You can use Whataboutism when it suits you and call out the likes of Tommy Robinson/Yaxley Lennon all you like…but the Elephant in the Room is too big and the door for it to exit is too small.

How about a bit of ****ing honesty rather than mental gymnastics as to how facts may play into one’s political leanings.

Re: Elon Musk calling out labour

Elon’s latest string of tweets are a little bit naughty.

"America should liberate the people of Britain from their tyrannical government." With an attached Yes/No poll.

Over half a million people have responded and over 70% voted for "Yes".

          Following it up with:

"He should be jailed ASAP." With a picture of Starmer.

"It would be nice if we could get the British, Canadians, New Zealanders, & Aussies to adopt our Bill of Rights. The first two amendments alone would work wonders."

          The Second Amendment being:
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

Not sure I’m very keen on one of the most powerful people in the American government, the next president’s unelected right hand man (let’s be honest, it’s not Vance is it), advocating for an invasion and the overthrowing of our democratically elected government. Whilst additionally promoting the armed insurrection of several nations as a positive thing.

That poll by the way has only been up for a few hours and is due to run for 24 hours in total. By tomorrow morning it’s likely several million people will have agreed with Musk that an American invasion of the UK is a good idea.

That’s the difference between random nobodies on Twitter and Elon Musk calling people fascists/communists/pedos/racists/etc

He's the world's richest man, owner of one of the biggest social media networks, offered $1m to swing state voters if they "fulfilled contractual obligations to serve as a spokesperson" for his PAC i.e for Trump (as per his attorney in court), publicly backed the far right in Germany, and has made over 20 posts calling for the king to dissolve our parliament.

I'm sure I've missed some other things from the past 48 hours.

Once upon a time, this would be a dystopian movie plot. Now we've got people who are essentially fine with it, with the most feeble of caveats.

does anyone else think that Musk is just going through the world's biggest mid-life crisis? or possibly having some other sort of public breakdown?

I see you, Nigel Farage. This photo aged well, didn’t it? You in your best suit, smiling for the cameras, and Elon striking his best supervillain pose in his 'Biggles Starts the Fourth Reich'...

I pondered this, as his tone has most definitely changed in recent months.

He's long been "anti-woke", which I think is great and refreshing and it feels like a era that is coming to an end thankfully. But I'm not sure he has been as aggressive or personal or clearly anti-left wing?

I'm also curious as to who is posting as the posts span the timezones a bit and seem to be pretty constant.

Anyway, all this has raised this topic to the top of the public discourse which is good, so clearly his words matter.

Maybe someone should tell him about Vincent Tan and our rebrand?
