Re: Zuckerberg
30 minutes in.
Not mind blowing but pretty wild as to what he has come against.
Is he falling in line because of the new administration or does he believe in community notes?
He says that X is doing a better job.
Right now at this moment in time, I would be incredibly supirsied if any of these revelations can or will change steadfast minds…just blown off by cynicism, which I admit to having towards Zuckerberg at the moment.
Then of course there is the Joe Rogan factor and people certainly love to shoot down a platform.
It’s a shame that James O’Brian can’t get him on LBC.

Re: Zuckerberg
Where we’re headed?
Washington Post cartoonist Ann Telnaes resigned after an editor rejected her sketch satirizing tech chiefs, including the Post's owner and Amazon founder Jeff Bezos.
The OP has spent years telling us that the world is being run by an unelected “elite” who were supposed to be behind virtually every negative event that was happening. When there is pretty convincing evidence that something similar is happening in what is, arguably, still the most powerful country in the world. Furthermore, the richest man in the world is being referred to as a kind of Vice President elect who is openly working to undermine foreign democracies despite having never stood for political office in his life, he comes across as being supportive of it - suppose it all depends on whether he likes the “elite” involved or not.

What about Channel 4 not showing their documentary about Muslim Rape Gangs due to political pressure.
What about George Soros?
Is there any point in having a good faith conversation with you?

Explain why this latest group of "elites" out to line their over stuffed pockets are any better than the last lot and I might begin to understand. To my mind, they're all the same, but Wales Bales clearly thinks differently.Originally posted by Wash DC Blue View PostOk Whataboutery it is.

Re: Zuckerberg
This 'post truth' and 'alternate fact' world needs fact checking more than ever.
Actual facts. Properly checked.
It might also help some of our regular paranoid, alt-right, obsessives with their triangulation.
More work needed there!
But 100% correct with 'Zucks is a weasel'.

Re: Zuckerberg
Alas, we've always lived in a world when facts were massively distorted. Many absolute facts from the Soviet era were only corrected in the late 80s and early 90s for example. I am sure in reality we live in a world where the truth is more available than ever.Originally posted by jon1959 View PostThis 'post truth' and 'alternate fact' world needs fact checking more than ever.

Unfortunately social media has changed things as mistruths or perhaps more accurately distortions of the truth can spread like wildfire.
In this case, I think the role of fact checkers themselves became politicized. The community notes system on X really isn't that bad to be honest. It allows users to intervene and provide context and corrections and is applied across the board.
It's not easy though. Some facts are absolute - the capital of Spain in Madrid for example, but most facts are like statistics; easily manipulated and easy to present in slightly different ways to further one cause or other

Re: Zuckerberg
im presuming that this is the interview in which Zuck tells Rogan that the Biden admin asked him to censor during COVID ?
