    And plaid ?

Git over the line by labour voters to defeat reform

Plaid could well be the saviour for the NHS in Wales although other already decimated services will be cut further.
I’m receiving ongoing treatment from the NHS, I’ve got nothing but praise for their diligence, attention, care etc. Regular appointments, phone calls re. My progress, same day appointments at my GP. My mates are hinting jokingly that I’ve gone private such is the way my problem is being dealt with……something I’d never consider. My experience over the last few months tells me that the NHS is still in great shape Amazing the amount of brown people I’ve encountered as well, makes me realise how important immigration is.

I'm not convinced that the Senedd has the powers to fundamentally address a lot of the issues in Wales, and we will always be an afterthought to Westminster, if they think of us at all.

I do think that breaking up of Labour's dominance is a good thing - an this is coming from a long time Labour voter.
The system in Wales isn't delivering, and it isn't healthy for one party to rule for so long unopposed.

In most democracies the main parties gravitate towards the mean of the political sensibilities of the overall population - this means that there are usually regular changes in power, and the direction of the country is usually vaguely in line with most people's feelings.

This doesn't happen in Wales. Labour and the Conservatives' positions are tied to the positions of the UK parties, in a properly functioning democracy the welsh conservatives would have moved to the left to compete for the middle ground in Wales.
This never happened, so we have been left with decades of Labour with no real opposition, and increasing disillusion with Labour, but nowhere realistic to turn elsewhere.

This result with Labour in third and the Tories losing their deposit - maybe it will be the start of Welsh politics coming of age, and we end up with a healthier system in the long run.

Well done to Plaid. They didnÂ’t back down over
Immigration and I was pleased to see that, but thought it could be their downfall in this climate.

I know Reform won a lot of votes, but itÂ’s hard to see how this can be seen as anything other than a catastrophe for them. It was there for the taking, Labour vote collapsed, Tories in disarray, and Reform threw absolutely everyone and everything at winning this seat. Tice, Farage, Zia, 3 party Lee, they were all camped out in Caerphilly. The only one I think didnÂ’t attend was Dorries, and letÂ’s be honest they probably asked the disaster-woman not to. They probably wonÂ’t want to let her near question time again either.

By the results, Farage and co all did a runner. Llyr didnÂ’t give a speech. If it was such an impressive result rather than a complete failure, I wonder why that was.

This ☝️ like splott Parker I never would have thought or wanted to go private but last year was bed bound for 4 months having already waited close on 2 years for NHS surgery so had no choice but to go private so I could go back to work and my life

Unfortunately op not a complete success and have been referred back to the NHS by GP just over a year ago and still waiting and guess what the person I have been referred back to is the same doctor who did the private op

Glad splott is getting a good experience and it shows it can and does work but it's not like that for everyone

The sad thing at the moment is that most people I talk to will be voting based on stopping someone else winning rather than really wanting the party they are voting for - it seems it's a race to the bottom for politics at the moment

There's an element of tactical voting but that doesn't explain the entirety of it, especially when you consider the fact they've been leading the YouGov polls & Labour's result is in line with what those polls are saying they'll get nationwide

Wonderful news those vile racists didn't get in. Shows they can be stopped!

I’ve been on the waiting list for work to my knees for two, maybe three years but I can get about albeit with discomfort but what’s really hit home about the efficiency and care of the NHS is the diagnosis I received about three months ago. Dear God, when the chips are down the speed with which they’ve sprung into action is nothing short of incredible. Of course a perfect system would spring into action to treat any ailment but what I’ve currently got and with their brilliant help I am going to beat makes my discomfort with my knees pale in comparison. Of course I am speaking for myself and everyone’s situation differs and I respect that.
In my opinion it’s privatisation and outsourcing of various positions within the system that has caused the gradual decline, it shouldn’t be a money making organisation for outside entrepreneurs. It’s ours and could have remained ours 100%. Governments of all political persuasions have contributed to this but Reform would hammer in the final nail in the coffin of the not so privileged (pun intended).

That cafe that made a thing of welcoming Farage and then became a focal point for a far-right 'rally', that ended up being 4 people ,with one in a balaclava and one on a mobility scooter , may have to quickly do some PR work too.

Big result for Plaid on a big turnout but Reform are a one policy party and were campaigning in an area with little migration and a strong pro-Ukraine presence (that they themselves stoked). They will do better in other areas unfortunately.

Plaid had more votes than Labour and Reform combined. The result wasn't even close in the end.

Hopefully this will now mean more investment and a fairer deal for Wales by the UK government in the run up to next year's Senedd elections. If there isn't Labour will only sink further.

As a minimum the Barnett formula needs modernising, rail investment needs devolving and so does the crown estate. That would give us greater parity with Scotland and Northern Ireland
