Thanks for confirming I and the rest of the nation should never listen to anything you have to say about politics ever again.
If you don't read/watch opposite views and opinions, then you are doing something wrong.

      Agree completely.

At the same time the BBC has been the subject of a right wing coup from within the Board, by the Tory press and by Boris Johnson.

As if the BBC doesn't already pander enough to their outlook and prejudices!

        Re: Panodrama

If there's been a right wing coup at the BBC then it's up there with January 6th as one of the most spectacularly failed coups in history.

BBC more than most need to ensure that people trust it's output and that it's impartial. We can all debate about the levels of bias it displays, and in different spheres it probably is bias one way or other, but generally speaking it's one of the best, if not the best, TV news stations in the world.

This story is pretty shocking though. It's Kremlin type stuff, and not the current Kremlin, but something from the 1950s. I think the shocking thing is that they thought it was okay, and no one pulled them up on it. That does give rise to accusations of institutional bias. Who knows.

On its own it shouldn't lead to these resignations, but on top of other scandals I think it's the straw that broke the camels back.

I have to say I've lost faith in the BBC in recent years, but I think that's more the rise of the internet and clickbait type articles, the website being a lot more questionable than the TV news for me.

Hold your horses on the J6 coup, recent developments are alleging a setup, which would be pretty wild if the story has any legs. I have no opinion on the matter, and so far it's just unconfirmed allegations as I see it.

Not forgetting Talk TV. The right wing elite will have us in a strangle hold.

I for one am absolutely flabbergasted that in a story about the BBC doctoring videos of politicians, Jon, Sludge, Dorcus and Coyote have somehow managed to take offence at Talk TV ("Right wing elite!"), GB News ("A cesspit!"), Daily Mail ("no one should ever listen to anything you say ever again!). All in a story about the...checks notes...BBC.

You guys need to give us the name of your yoga teachers, cos that's some seriously impressive shape shifting!

I can't claim credit for the Daily Mail or the Talk TV references, but GB News launched its Washington Bureau 2 months ago with Nigel Farage and a dozen of Trump's cabinet present to cheer it on.

This whilst the Trump White House (which was/is threatening the BBC with 'lawfare' and a massive financial claim) is freezing out and sidelining many traditional and legitimate news outlets.

Trump' press secretary on X yesterday:

Karoline Leavitt on X. . @BBCNews is dying because they are anti-Trump Fake News. Everyone should watch @GBNEWS!

Attacking the BBC whilst promoting GB News is absolutely part of the story (in the UK as well as the USA).

                        No shape shifting!

                            Re: Panodrama

The BBC have let themselves down big time this time. Sadly they have gifted Trump a winning hand - he can justifiably claim "fake news" on this occasion.

Regardless of the time lapse between the "we will march to the Capitol" and the "fight like hell" part of his speech, one might be forgiven for wondering if the riot at the Capitol was indeed inspired by said speech. I suspect different people might have interpreted "fight like hell" in different ways. It seems like Trump did little to intervene to stop the rioting:

According to the final report of the January 6 House select committee:

"Here's what President Trump did during the 187 minutes between the end of his speech and when he finally told rioters to go home: For hours, he watched the attack from his TV screen. His channel of choice was Fox News. He issued a few tweets, some on his own inclination and some only at the repeated behest of his daughter and other trusted advisors. He made several phone calls, some to his personal lawyer Rudolph Giuliani, some to Members of Congress about continuing their objections to the electoral certification, even though the attack was well underway. Here's what President Trump did not do: He did not call any relevant law enforcement agency to ensure they were working to quell the violence. He did not call the Secretary of Defense; he did not call the Attorney General; he did not call the Secretary of Homeland Security. And for hours on end, he refused the repeated requests—from nearly everyone who talked to him—to simply tell the mob to go home."

                                Re: Panodrama

Now its unequivocal that the BBC lied to stitch up the Trumpet and any marching around to mitigate for them is pointless, one begs the question, what else have they lied for, immediate thoughts,

1.) Are they lying or have they lied to promote the climate scam bollox
2.) Did they lie to promote the pandemic scam?
3.) Did they lie to dissuade Brexit?
The list could go on and on

I'll put my neck on the block and say yes to all three, and many more of their narrative pushes.
