BBC has ‘serious questions to answer’ amid Trump speech Panorama edit, MP says

The programme spliced clips together from sections of the US president’s speech on January 6, 2021

    Looks to be indefensible.

The unedited facts of 6 January don't need to be manipulated to make clear what happened, and why, and who instigated it.

Now the BBC have handed Trump a reason to drag them through the courts (not sure which courts).

When they do a hatchet job on the political left they get a free pass, but when it goes the other direction (where the money and power are) they are in big trouble.

    Self inflicted!

In their entire history, I think the BBC have lied less than Trump has since he became seriously politically active in 2015.

You're missing the point, it's not about Trump, it's about the BBC.

Try to take Trump out of the equation.
Then look at it for what it is.

I’m really disillusioned with the BBC.
Not just with this example, or its news coverage…but its output in general.

Watching it at My Dads this last week was a chore to be honest.

I don’t want it defunded, I just want it to be better. I’d say it has produced more quality than every channel Worldwide combined through its history.
Now it’s just a shell of the shell of itself that it was even 10 years ago.

                Kind of heartbreaking to see.

The BBC have always been world leaders in subtle propaganda, the trouble is not many people can see it.

For once I agree with you. They take (or used to take) their news agenda from the right-leaning print media. They adopted an editorial line to favour the government of the day (that controlled the purse strings). They favoured establishment voices and those promoted by the most dominant lobby groups (that also influenced government policy). In labour disputes the bosses got far more air time than the unions. In international conflicts the victims rarely get a hearing - as has been crystal clear in the past two years as before. The BBC employ some leftish comedians, but more than balance that with news executives from the right.

But they do make good nature, science and arts documentaries. Unfortunately the BBC4 output doesn't compensate for BBC News and Panorama.

The Telegraph has exposed what amounts to an avalanche of fake news and disinformation coming from the BBC. Amazing isnÂ’t it, that Marianna Spring and her BBC Verify chums missed it?.

Let's be honest. This is absolutely shocking from the BBC. A clear example of political bias as you will ever see.

I remember when newsnight mocked up Corbyn in a communist hat with the red star etc. It's like that on steroids. I hate it. It's not what any of us want from the BBC

That was unforgivable but GB News and Talk TV are wizards at fake news too. Keep your enemies close and your friends even closer.

Everyone is capable of it, but the BBC should be well above such naked impartiality as this
