Re: Desperate to lose weight ?

I was 105 kg which sat mostly on my stomach . Hardly drink beer as can only have gluten free which is harder to come by . Drink absolute vodka and diet coke , practically zero calories, eat healthily although was partial to a pack of crisps . Walk miles most days including mountain walking , cycle lots but couldn't lose an ounce of weight .Started Mounjaro about 4 months ago just gone under 90kg . Stayed on the minimum dosage for the first 3 months. Skip up the mountains now , doing the kiltwalk tomorrow 18 miles Banchory to Aberdeen which I will do fairly comfortably.
Its not for everyone but as injections go you dont feel it the needles are tiny . Side affects are far outweighed by the benefits . I was lucky perhaps , I had very little side affects .Once you get passed a certain age losing weight with exercise alone is a struggle .

I've been up to Miller and Carter the one past the crem this evening for a bite to eat, cut down this time and only had a 9 ounce steak with new potatoes instead of chips. 2 pints of neck oil IPA to wash it down punishment for this over indulgence was a walk home, just a few over 10,000 steps.

Punishment continues in the morning, as long as it's not pishing down with rain, we are going to leg it into town 😁. The lads wedding is only 5 weeks away, and whilst I barely lost an once despite walking for miles 🤣 I'm going to pretend I have, and get something new to wear!!!!!

That's the other huge positive, my "cant wear" selection is now just the clothes I bought to wear at 105kg , All my suits , dinner suits , shirts, trousers fit comfortably, all are now wearable again .
You will have to give up the two pints of IPA for a while if you really want to lose weight , I doubt 10000 steps a day will do it. I was doing 10000- 20000 most days on the hills and nothing ... zilch .. fat as ever...

It's only a little prick, it won't hurt and it'll be over in a second.

I took mounjaro last year for 5 months. lost five stone. since i stopped it 10 months ago i've lost a further half a stone and maintained at that weight. The jabs were amazing, not just for the weight loss but just made everything feel better.

I don't drink anymore, had high blood pressure and was trying my best to kill my liver so I gave up booze, dropped a bit of weight then did the five months on the jabs.

                              Since my heaviest point in 2024 (22st 2 - 310 lbs) I've lost 7 stone.

                              Now 15st 2 - 212 lbs, which is about 97kg.

BMI dropped from 40 to 27

Have thrown out all my clothes, twice! Now wear 34 inch waist jeans (was 42), and buy tops size L (was XXXL).

                                Well played Mike.

Good to read you're feeling better for it.
