There's no need to play dumb. Because you suggest that to pose questions (whilst clearly stating it is a wholly unjustified tragedy, as I have) is somehow a standout position from what everyone else can see. But people do see it differently. Maybe not the people you speak to, but others will argue you simply do not drive off when asked by law enforcement to stop for example. Or they will question the mind of the officer in question and whether he should have been working given what had previously happened. Asking such things doesn't justify anything, it merely better informs understanding of the issues to make it less likely to happen in future.
This is the problem. Many of you require a strict adherence to the exact position you have, and any deviation will land you an insinuation of supporting or glossing over whats happened, when there is no basis for that whatsoever.
