I don't envisage any if the above being in that article.
    You don't like him then?

I see he's had to do another U Turn today, it would seem that Farage knows the law a bit more than him, what a shame he has to go ahead with the local elections he wanted to cancel, shame that.

I actually had some sympathy for Labour on this as I do agree with local government reorganization, but this is the second year of it and it just looked like them running scared and trying to deny democracy. No doubt they were trying to avoid the embarrassment of losing councils and now theyve made it look a whole lot worse
I don't actually think central government saw it like that but definitely looked like a few councils requested the deferment without actually needing it because LGR was so far away.

I was broadly in favour because primarily I tend to think it doesn't really matter and local democracy is a bit of a sham. If all the councillors evaporated into thin air, I don't think anybody would notice any difference. And secondly, the electorate doesn't have a clue about what local government does, let alone what a district council does Vs a county council Vs a unitary authority, they don't know what they are voting for and may as well just be closing their eyes and throwing a pen at the ballot sheet. Oh and thirdly, local elections are increasingly just weak proxies for national elections, even the campaign material tends to have national level policy on it now.

I agree on the general state of local government there. Id be quite content having a good third less councillors and some kind of public information on who is responsible for what would be useful - you actively have to seek this stuff out if you only have a passing interest in politics, like most people.

Needless to say, elections are still important, so it's just such an obvious own goal. Do the elections and then reorganize local councils. It may seem an unnecessary election but that's the way it is.

Probably the weakest leader this country has ever had, now he annoyed Trump too, which in all honesty isn’t very difficult as he’s such a big baby, but when NATO needs another big hand v Putin in the future I think I know what Don will say…..

There's no way he is as weak as Boris Johnson, now you're being silly.

I actually think this shows him in a better light. Why on Earth would we want to participate in an illegal war whose main premise is to deflect from the criminal activities of two evil men? I wish he hadn't capitulated over RAF Fairford and Diego Garcia.

I agree with all you say here, but it's the type of post in which I like to annoy the uber cool virtuos flag waving commies as a reminder its not a precedent, the UK participated previously in arguably an illegal war 2003, under another Labour PM. Notice the tend ?.

Bit contradictory this, a weak leader would have bowed down to Trump's bidding, and I strongly suspect that had he done that then you'd have been on here criticizing him for dragging us into an illegal war

Agree but Tony B Liar was and still is a greedy, duplicitous Red Tory who likes to masquerade to fool people. He doesn't count.
