climate advocates such as her focus heavily on certain sectors (like fossil fuels or consumer behavior) while giving less attention to others—such as military emissions.

The global military sector—especially large forces like those of the United States Department of Defense—is one of the biggest institutional consumers of fossil fuels in the world. However, military emissions are often underreported or excluded from international agreements like the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, which makes the issue less visible in mainstream climate discussions.

Greta appears choose her messaging strategy depending who’s funding her so I can understand why you are doubling down.

The combined carbon footprint across the entire transport industry is dwarfed by that of the meat industry. So, why do we focus on former but not the latter?

Greta T seems to be the lightning rod for all the credulous lame brains who think man-made climate change is 'false news'!

Those same people appear to be disproportionately fans of alt right prophets (Big Oil funded) and the orange man-child.

Most of the social media attacks on her that I have seen are embarrassing - and not for her.

On the Carbon/CO2 footprint of the military - especially the US military - you are right. It doesn't get enough attention - although a few posters on here have been consistently pointing out the impact of Ukraine and Gaza on warming.

It's probably more to do with reading this bullshit since the 70's and i'm still here to call this deep state cretinous puppet out when i shouldn't be and that for everything WEF sponsored climate scientist, there is an equal non WEF climate scientist calling out this nonsense only they get cancelled and their reputations trashed by the usual suspects.

It’s incredible how she drives all the tick box crowd wild isn’t it. It’s one of the real ironies of the 21st century that the word “snowflake” was purloined by the populist right to give it another meaning when you see the way so many of them react to a a Swedish schoolgirl with a cause.

Re: Greta has competition on the climate nonsense

It is kinda annoying being lectured at by a child who clearly thought she knew everything but evidently did not and has spent the last few years by combating climate change by burrowing into a rabbit hole.

I feel sorry for her really, and was plainly exploited by older people who wanted to hide behind a child figure they knew was harder to criticise. I wouldn't use the word grooming but can you picture a 15 year old being used in such a way for any other cause?

Any talk of climate change hoaxes is nonsense, and not worth the risk even if we don't know everything. Also nonsense is any talk of net zero being remotely achievable without very profound impacts upon people's lives which would almost certainly end the drive for net zero before it was reached.

CO2 emissions continue to soar of course, but that seems to matter much less as long as it's happening somewhere else and we are merely seen to care.

How much CO₂ does the world emit? Which countries emit the most?

That paper is pointless without putting those fossil fuel figures in the context of the meat industry’s carbon footprint.
