Not really. It's only 200 miles away. A straight shot down I-95. It's not a big city like New York, but it is the nation's capital. Now the people taking part? That's a different matter.

Can you give me an example of a left-leaning conservative?

No. They're not like that. They more like the old Liberal Party. Or the SDP.

                      The Democrats?

Liberal conservatives like clark , major and Sarah Wollaston remind me of the Democrats

Not social Democrats like the SDP who are further left

This leaves relatively small percentages of Americans who actually embrace far-left and far-right political agendas. Yet it is those on the fringes that dominate the political discourse, thanks in large part to popular biased cable news programming and social media.

                        There you have it.

Predictably so many ignorant and hypocritical comments on here from some that apparently espouse tolerance.

“Rednecks”, “Majority of Americans are Permanently off their heads”, “Characters from the hills have eyes”.

I’d wager that the same posters would describe Brexit voters in a similar fashion.

People who do this are the opposite side of the same coin to the idiots in DC yesterday.

The partisanship has to stop...unless you would rather be seen as right than create a better world.

They just seem like that because the system of government we have is so restrictive. So someone like Bill Clinton or Barack Obama can have a ton of liberal ideas, but they have to be tempered to get through the House and the Senate. Do you get stuff like Don't Ask Don't Tell and the Affordable Care Act.

Many Democrats that live in so-called "swing states" have to be careful what they agree to because there's a Republican at home who will jump all over them and twist everything out of all proportion if they agree to anything that can be called "socialism". Joe Biden holds all the aces right now, but he's a moderate. We'll see what people like Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, and Alexandria Ocascio Cortez can get done. We need taxpayer-funded healthcare here. Badly. More people go bankrupt do to unpaid medical bills than anything else. We'll see.

those people in Washington were a bunch of redneck lunatics intent on violence, straight out of a cartoon

I disagreed with the decision to leave brexit , I think those who voted for it were misguided and an element were Deffo racist

But I didn't see an armed militia of bearded tubbies attacking the houses of Parliament following our decision to leave Europe?

                                Did you ?

You are not equating the shocking scenes of murder and destruction in Washington by far right idiots with the pro Europe movement here are you ?
