Putin was among a high-speed motorcade to the Kremlin late yesterday evening, it has been widely reported. A very unusual event apparently. It seems whenever he travels by car in Moscow all roads on his route are closed to public vehicles and his driver really puts his clog down.

Most of the speculation surrounding Putin's midnight dash centered on how he might solve the problem of Lithuania, a NATO member, blocking so much rail transport through its territory heading for Kaliningrad. It came on the same day Lithuania's president is said to have uttered the remarks in a tweet included below.

Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda decided not to make concessions to Russia on the issue of transit to the Kaliningrad region -RBC.

Who are we supposed to rise up against and, more importantly, who shouldn’t we rise up against? The problem here is that by asking direct questions to someone who never ever answers them, I, as a mere sheeple incapable of independent and critical thought, may start rising up against the wrong people.
