I would have thought they would have been less considering we have just come out of a pandemic.

What’s the relevance of 5.0% excess deaths out of curiosity?

Excess mortality still dropping. I wonder why those so excited about the peak in July haven't been updating us with figures from August or September? Still, not long to wait for October's numbers!

Excess mortality in the EU fell for the second consecutive month following a peak of +16% in July, which was the highest value on record to date in 2022 and unusually high for the month of July. Excess mortality in September 2022 decreased from +13% in August to +9% of the average number of deaths for the same period in 2016-2019. There were 30 000 excess deaths in September. Compared with the same months of previous years, the excess mortality rate was +8% in September 2020 (28 000 excess deaths) and +13% in September 2021 (44 000 excess deaths). This information comes from data on excess mortality published by Eurostat today, based on weekly deaths data collection. The article presents a handful of findings from the more detailed Statistics Explained articles on excess mortality and weekly deaths. Source dataset: demo_mexrt Excess mortality rates continued to vary across the EU Member States. All Member States registered positive rates, except for Slovakia, which decreased to -2% from the +11% rate recorded in August 2022. The highest rates in September 2022 were recorded in Finland and Greece (both +17%), followed by Estonia (+16%), and Germany (+15%). Meanwhile, besides Slovakia, the lowest rates were recorded in Luxembourg (+2%), Hungary (+2%), Bulgaria (+3%), Slovenia (+4%) and Latvia (+5%), all less than half of the EU average. The EU registered earlier major peaks in excess deaths in April 2020 (+25%), November 2020 (+40%), April 2021 (+21%) and November 2021 (+27%). How did the situation evolve in your country? Although excess mortality was observed during most of the past two years across Europe, the peaks and intensity of outbreaks varied greatly between countries. For further analysis, you can read the Statistics Explained article on excess mortality and use the interactive tool by selecting the country you would like to analyse. For more information: Statistics Explained article on excess mortality Statistics Explained article on weekly deaths Dedicated page on population & demography Methodological notes: Excess mortality refers to the number of deaths from all causes measured during a crisis, above what could be observed in ‘normal’ conditions. The excess mortality indicator draws attention to the magnitude of the health crisis by providing a comprehensive comparison of additional deaths amongst European countries and allows for further analysis of the causes. Please note that while a substantial increase in excess mortality largely coincides with the COVID-19 outbreak, this indicator does not discriminate among the causes of death and does not identify differences between sex or age. Bad news for those following the excess deaths in the Europe who were hoping for the end of the human race.

Excess mortality in the EU in November 2022 was almost +6.7% of the average number of deaths for the same period in 2016-2019, the second lowest value of 2022 after March 2022 (+6.6%). This EU estimate indicates a decrease from the previous month of October when excess mortality was at 10.6%. In absolute terms, there were around 25 000 additional deaths in November 2022. In comparison, the excess mortality rate was +40% in November 2020 (151 000 excess deaths) and +27% in November 2021 (100 000 excess...

All is not lost for Organ Morgodramus though. The Chinese population reduced by almost a million last year. Only another 7.5 billion of the World's population to perish to meet his Deagal prediction of 550 million souls left on Earth by 2025.

Deagel's, nor my, 2025 population forecasts are anywhere close to your figure.

I saw your contribution to the recent thread re Leeds away in the mid-70s and have calculated you're 87-years-old. I'll be more understanding of your failing memory in future.

You are right Morg, I was conflating two of your fantasies.

The Deagel one had the UK population at 15 million and the USA at 54m by 2025 for example.

The 500m, not 550 was your Georgia Guidestones end-game, for which there is no timeframe.

Still, not long to wait for 52 million teletubbies to meet their maker I guess.

My first official prediction of 2023 is (drum roll) a massive escalation of the Ukraine-Russia conflict is imminent. With anti-aircraft batteries appearing all over Moscow then it looks like the phony proxy war is about to become Russia and friends versus NATO countries.

From memory, Deagel's 2025 US population was 99 million, down from over 300 million, representing the greatest percentage decline of all 180+ countries listed except for Blighty.

One way for their numbers to hit would be for Russia to nuke them and the other NATO member nations who are slated to suffer dramatic reductions all of whom have been busy arming and/or financing Ukraine.

Russia's (along with China, India and many others) population remain virtually identical at Deagel. Could Russia blast all their enemies, some of whom have nukes, while none choose to respond in kind? I suppose they could providing a hidden hand controls every piece on the board... the same hidden hand that had the clout to order they all played along with pretending an invisible virus was helping to kill people.

I think many would agree the US and Britain are atop the list of Russia's foes.

Morg when you first posted this Deagel bull I replied with a review of it. Remarkably the predictions of population reduction made on that site increase the closer it gets to the prediction date. So the prediction of US population in 2017 was 54 million but in 2020 (when they stopped posting this nonsense) it had risen to 100m.

The forecasts did not factor in any conflict or pandemic, purely as a result of an economic collapse which caused millions of Americans to flee to Latin America.

I recently stumbled upon this article about a forecast/list of predicted population development until 2025: Deagel, a real intelligence organization for the U.S. government, predicts massive global
