  • Jonathan Gullis Tory MP

At PMQ,s Tulip Sadiq asked Sunak about the welfare of 200 unaccompanied migrant children who’ve gone missing.

Tory MP Jonathan Gullis heckles ‘well they shouldn’t have come here illegally’.

He used to be a teacher FFS.

He is a vile, repugnant racist who should be kicked out of politics for good and never be allowed to be near children ever again.

A new low even for the Tory’s.

An absolute a***hole! He comes across as too thick to have been a teacher. Maybe he was just a teaching assistant.

My friend is a teaching assistant is highly intelligent and does a wonderful job for for a shite salary.

Gullis couldn’t lace hers or other teaching assistants boots.

Bollocks. The system has been completely and utterly exploited for months and months. You were warned about it and ignored it. Anyone who calls it out just gets labelled 'rAcIsT'. The problems now were actively encouraged by some people and he isn't one of them.

The shame lies in those that encourage the abuse of the system with no means for us to cope with it.

The people who did absolutely nothing to stop it. Who absurdly played the race card against anyone trying to stop it and who chose to turn it into a game for their own benefit.

It's typical of many to gloss over the criminal activity, the abuse of the system, the jumping of queues, that cost, the housing process when we have thousands homeless, the presumably rampant child abuse, yet anyone calls it out and the faux outrage comes out.

Scenarios like this is why people strongly opposed this kinda thing 18 months ago when it was clear what was happening. Yes, his language is unfortunate but I'll wager that Jonathan Gullid did that and for me the shame is on those who did not and did everything they could to create an environment where abuse like this flourishes.

Good one. Except the stuff I've been banging on about for months on stuff like this is happening.

What the hell are you talking about?

13 years! Yes 13 years your lot has had to sort out this problem. Instead you’ve failed on every single front.

So what does Gullis do when told that some of the most vulnerable children in the world are being kidnapped on British soil, screams out, “well they shouldn’t have come here illegally”.

Experts had warned this would happen from the very beginning, when the Home Office signed contracts with hotel owners in July 2021 to house unaccompanied child asylum-seekers.

Children, kidnapped from a hotel run by the Home Office. In some cases, bundled in a car and driven away from right outside the front door.

                    Hang your heads in shame.

                      Truly awful.
“well they shouldn’t have come here illegally”.
And we have some people defend that.
With every inference that because they’ve come here illegally, they can take whatever is coming, it’s their fault. Children.

Answers on a postcard how they would’ve come here legally, by the way

Honestly the naivity on here is beyond. Again, this is the result of a system totally abused. I get the feeling some of you blame the govt on here but at least they recognised the abuse and tried to do something about it. What the hell do you think the next government will do?! Based on what you guys seem to want the issue would only get worse.

                        This article drills into these numbers more;

Of the 440 children, 13 are said to be under 16. And we take their word on it. They are victims, but they are victims of an abused system that many in the article below (and tbh on here) facilitated and were more than happy to make excuses for.

People were making warnings about all this 18 months ago and we're completely dismissed by the same people now complaining in the article below. Yet if we listened to them the problem would only exacerbate further. They've effectivrely encouraged the abuse of the system and child exploitation by encouraging boat crossings.

Unaccompanied child asylum seekers housed in hotels are at risk, more than 100 charities warn.

So, we’ve had Patel and Braverman as Home Secretary for years who talk(ed) about nothing else but immigration, a Governing party for thirteen years that’s banged on about it for the entirety and around a decade ago set immigration targets that have never come close to being reached, had a Brexit referendum based largely on “securing our borders” yet still the figures go up and that’s our fault? The Tories are always deflecting in their efforts to blame someone else, but even they’ve not tried that one yet.

When you say the government recognised something was wrong and tried to do something about it, do you mean tried and then failed spectacularly, or is there something you're giving them credit for?

I'm not sure who you suggest is encouraging boat crossings but the continued lack of any way of legal entry does exactly that.

You are conveniently forgetting that you got your way, the government implemented your chosen policy and it failed. You had no answers beyond 'Rwanda', we told you it wouldn't work and that it was essentially just raw meat for the tabloids and a few die hards like yourself but you never once doubted it was the way to go.

The number of boats have very little to do with a creaking support system for younger vulnerable members of society. Are you really telling me the home office can't organise support for a few hundred children and young adults in a country of 60 million people?
