Bairstow isn't a test player to my mind, but maybe that's me being a bit harsh - there's no way he's a test number three though.

I'm not sure if England's rotation policy means that he'll play in the next match or not? I certainly hope not. Lawrence and Crawley look more technically suited to being a number 3.

Shirley there is a threshold regarding test match batting track standards. 17 wickets in a day early in the match must call the pitch quality into question.
