    Is this a joke ?

My son in law just WhatsApp’ed me a screenshot from SecondtierPod
I’ve never actually heard of them but it says what Johns just said
Cardiff are distancing themselves from the appointment if Sol Bamba

If it’s true then they must have been watching the feedback on the message boards?
Surely tho Vinny long Trousers doesn’t give a flying feck

          Re: Sol Bamba

Cardiff City have not settled on a successor to Sabri Lamouchi as manager but want to make a swift appointment.

Bamba, 38, a former Cardiff player, returned to the club as an assistant to Lamouchi and was initially regarded in some quarters as the Frenchman's heir apparent.

Jones was with Cardiff as a youngster and was quickly installed as the bookmakers' favourite having been a lifelong Bluebirds fan.

However, neither Jones nor Bamba are thought to be among the front runners for the post at this stage.

The club is aware of the need for speed on the appointment, but the final say will be with Tan.

              Re: Sol Bamba

I reckon they'll be looking to get Frank Lampard. The club will be shopping a huge loan market potential for youngsters this summer and old Frank will have those connections.

              Just my opinion.

Don't want to be negative or anything, but...
You are being realistic, it's a shit show!

Lovely bloke but apparently so is the groundsman and they probably have the same managerial experience.

Probably they do, but their puzzlement illustrates a disconnect between the eastern and western minds. To Tan, described by the speaker (who is he, incidentally?) as "dead religious," trying to placate evil spirits by the scattering of rice makes sense and is rooted in ancient ancestral practice. Probably, he attributes much of his business success to these sorts of rituals. Red is a lucky colour. Burning stuff is a way to erase the past in preparation for a brighter future. All cultural stuff that we rationalist westerners dismiss as "off his trolley."

But there you go. People, and cultures, are different.

As for shooting more, I remember watching a training clip where Ole Gunnar Solskjær was yelling at the players to do just that, and for the same reason — the more you shoot, the more you score.

As incompetent as OGS was, there is a slight difference between a renowned former international striker telling a goal-shy team to shoot more when they have the opportunity and Vinny asking why David Marshall doesn't score goals

Did he really ask why a goalkeeper doesn't score more goals? Strange, for sure.

But he was not wrong, surely, about taking more shots.

I remember my dear old dad once wondering why goalkeepers don't take penalties. They have a hell of a boot, he reasoned.

                                He did, Peltier said so.

He is also wrong about shooting more. If you are asking defenders to shoot more, you are a moron. Working good chances is better than having 20 pop shots.
