      R.I.P. Tina

Loved the 60s R&B stuff she did with Ike in the 60s. They released some amazing stuff

Couldn't stand the bland 80s soul lite, pop shite she did though

Sad about this. Great entertainer who had a difficult early life. Never saw her live, but on the box her charisma shone through.
                She will be missed.

I saw her topping the bill at the Hockenheim ring, circa 150,000 crowd, private dancer is a brilliant album IMO and was a reference album for audiophiles to evaluate their systems back then, the dynamics and sound stage of the vinyl album is brilliant, she came on after Simple Minds and just didn't cut it, terrible screeching voice I lasted about three songs before heading off into Hockenheim village for a beer
RIP, great career, interesting person and I'm sure she would have been great in a smaller type hall

She recorded a couple of songs ('Steamy Windows' and 'Undercover Agent for the Blues') written and previously performed by Tony Joe White, whose style and delivery couldn't have been more different - but she did an amazing job.

He wrote 'Polk Salad Annie', which Elvis not only covered but also copied TJW's style.
