interesting one, decent potential upsides to this move, player seems to be growing in reputation and a much better age to be bringing in than most of the players we are linked with

at first glance looks like a replacement for Panzo - left sided CM who can also cover at left back
but that wouldn't explain the loaning out to Kortrijk, and why wouldn't they just sign him directly?

probably to early for the obligatory grainy YouTube footage set to the worst music you've ever heard, but I'm posting it anyway in the hopes that it kick-starts the transfer window

Strange highlight video. I was beginning to wonder if he could do anything besides pass.

weirdly that is considered a desirable skill amongst some team's supporters, I don't think it'll catch on here though

Was going to say the same thing. Whenever the question is asked of what sort of player do we need, it's generally a big target man, no-nonsense defender or midfield hard man. Players who can pass the ball well and have sound technique are rarely ever considered.

I’ve read a few on social media suggest that the instant loan could be due to the difficulty in obtaining a work permit so quickly for the UK, and that Brighton did similar with Mitoma. Haven’t checked either, but in principle the work permit matter could make sense.

thats true - is it easier to obtain in Belgium?

If that was the case, then it is even more interesting, as it raises questions about who would be driving this transfer, as you wou'dn't have thought Bulut would be pushing for a transfer that he might not even get to use

Yes but …. Is this really the level we’re looking at? Had it been his brother, that’s a different matter.

According to an online checker it seems that he probably wouldn't get a work permit for here.

Think youre being a little unfair, half of those clubs were when he was 18/19 going out on loan. Id much rather someone go out on loan playing mans football than playing academy football. We know only too well from our own acadamy weve had many prospects who played meaningless academy football for far too long instead of going out on meaningful loans and have just drifted out of the game.

Agree, and u23 football. Whenever I have watched it it looks like an exercise in showing how an individual has been coached to death, a bit like those shit courses you have to go on with work that are carried out in safe and forgiving environments without the obvious Panic factor of a real life situation. Maybe that's harsh, but it's noticeable when young players make the step up.

Thing is, and without sounding like an old Twat ( which I sort of am) there doesn't seem to be the urgency with young players coming through at the club, and I don't think it's their fault, it's got to be the way they're coached and nurtured. Look at the players we have produced pre academy. Gunter, Lesley, Earnshaw, Ginge, Ramsey, Mathews etc They all had their faults, but they all had that character to succeed, take control of situations, prepared to make mistakes. That type of attitude seems to have gone with this ultra level of coaching. Might be wrong as it's only anecdotal, although I'm only speaking about our club.

using our club as an example is not ideal, we must have one of, if not the worst track records in bringing players through to professional football
