    Re: Rob Burrow

Sad news. One of my very favourite players to watch. Devastating rugby league player, which is absolutely incredible considering he was a 5'5 minnow in an often brutal sport full of giants.

Faced his illness with the same attitude he played his sport.

Such sad news 😕saw Rob play in his prime including his virtuoso performance against saints in the 2012 grand final, he was an integral part of the great Leeds team of that era and tough as teak and a fantastic player and person. RIP Rob. MOT ALAW

Terrible how this awful disease can cut down men (I’m not sure I’ve ever heard of a woman getting it) so early in their lives and it seems worse when it’s someone who was a vibrant sportsman a decade or so earlier.

So sad. Doddie Weir, now Rob Burrow.
2 absolute giants in their respective rugby codes, and 2 absolute gentlemen to boot. RIP Rob.

It's a horrible disease. A friend was diagnosed a couple of years ago. He's on an electric scooter now. I can't imagine what goes through his mind when he sees people like Rob or Doddie and what life will be like in a few years time.

That would be kindest. He's got a three year old daughter. We forget how lucky we are sometimes.

Men are affected almost twice as often as women.

Add Van Der Westhuizen too, it seems rugby players are particularly vulnerable to this horrible disease, i also know local grass roots players who have died. Rugby has a big problem on their hands.,
