Re: David Marshall, retires from playing
Though we have been blessed with a number of quality goal-keepers he is the best keeper I've seen since starting watching City (from the late 1950's). His professionalism and performances were of the highest order. He was a class act. During his time at City he amassed:Originally posted by Keyser Soze View PostI struggle to think of a better goalkeeper in my time at City. For the division we were in at the time Gavin Ward was a standout. In the Championship / Prem years, Marshall gets my nod.

Class keeper and very professional, I met him many times, and he was very mature for a young footballer.Originally posted by BLUETIT View Post

Yes she did, they lived at top of Wennallt Road in the New houses on the right, Gavin Rae was up there and he loved it too.Originally posted by splott parker View PostDidn’t his wife love living in Cardiff and used to, jokingly, angle for a move back here whenever he became available after leaving us?
Cardiff must have something Nat Phillips's wife/partner recently said the same.

Re: David Marshall, retires from playing
We've been blessed with some good keepers in recent decades. Neil Alexander, Marshall, Allan McGregor (briefly), Etheridge, Tom Heaton. We were spoilt having Marshall and Heaton at the same time.
That said, we've had some stinkers, too. Dimi Konstantopolous, Steven Bywater, Runarsson to name a few.
