    Re: Fixtures

Bit of an anti-climax; yet again we've been drawn against 23 Championship teams.

The 1957 fixture was the opening game of the season. We also played them on the opening day in 1930, losing 3-2.

This may be an omen - we've played Swansea twice on the 3rd league game of the season winning both 1-0. Bulut is a master at the 1 goal win, so you never know.

It will also be our first opening day fixture against Sunderland since 1955. We won that 3-1.

We haven't faced Oxford United on Boxing day since a 4-0 drubbing at the Manor Ground in 1984.
i was at that oxford game

The working man’s game eh!! Kick off times were geared to helping workers get to games in the past. It’s a slippery slope the game is heading towards supporter (in the ground) wise.

I was thinking exactly that: Portsmouth, Millwall and Luton away are all midweek :-(

                Don't worry. Be happy.
                Not easy though is it?

That’s one view, but the EFL will point to record attendances last season.

I’m pretty sure we’ll see lower attendances in the Championship this season due the teams involved and lower attendances at the CCS due to last season’s dreadful football. Whether the TV deal will have a significant impact remains to be seen I guess.

                    12.30pm just leaving the house
                    5.30pm just getting home
                    Night games, awkward getting home
                    Sunday games, I play cards

Football is 3.00pm on a Saturday

That’s what season ticket holders sign up for

Exactly. No point having a ST if you've got no regular rhythm to life. Hence I didn't renew last season and not renewing this season. Pick and choose. I really miss the once a fortnight Midlands to Cardiff and back commute. Set off at 9am back for 9pm. Those were the days.

The reason I don't have one is because of the amount of games I'd miss due to work, its not financially viable.

But lets be honest, those that do buy ST have been aware of the spread of games for years, to say a reason people sign up because of the 3pm ko times wouldn't be truthful would it, because games have been broadcast for years, its not a recent thing thats surprising people.

But this coming season the days and Tim’s are ridiculous

On the other hand, variety is the spice of life. It’ll be good to be bored senseless on Fridays and Sundays instead of just Saturdays.
